RoboCop: Rogue City

RoboCop: Rogue City is a first-person shooter set in the well-beloved universe of the Robo Cop movies. And while there have been tries to turn the movies into games before, I’d argue that Rogue City is the first one where they nailed it. [u][b]Story[/b][/u] The Story takes place roughly between the second and third movie. A mysterious new criminal is in town and throws money around like it’s nothing to recruit the gangs of the city, but what is his ultimate goal and does he act on his own or is anyone funding him? And has the new mega building project taking part in Detroit anything to do with it?... [u][b]Gameplay[/b][/u] The gameplay is an mix of open world areas you are free to roam around, filled with side quests and other minor activities, spending time at the police station to talk to your coworkers and drive the plot (it acts like your hub between missions) and of course the most important part, a lot of action and gory shootouts with criminals and elements of the underworld. You always have your trusty main pistol with you from the movies, and the best thing is, it is viable throughout the entire game. There is an upgrade system that keeps it relevant, which is a great move from the devs, to not take away RoboCop’s iconic gun or make it redundant at some point. Of course there are also other guns, like assault rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles and the occasional pick up like an LMG or Grenade Launcher. What I want to mention as well is that the hit feedback is amazing, you feel each shot that connects with the enemy and where it connects, which results in each shootout being a ton of fun. [u][b]Graphic/Audio[/b][/u] The game looks aaaaaaamazing, from the lighting, reflections on the ground in puddles, to gun models, and every environment is detailed, they put a lot of love in the world to make it authentic to the universe and devs succeeded on every level. You really feel like you are in the RoboCop universe, and you are him, through how Robo speaks, walks and his iconic one liners. The whole audio set up of the game is wonderful. The footsteps and soundscape, like how your footsteps sound different based on the environment. Really nothing to complain. [u][b]Tech[/b][/u] I personally didn’t counter any issue while playing. The only minor issue I had was that one time my mouse speed got dropped super low, but the next cutscene fixed it, so from my perspective, there isn’t anything I could complain about. [u][b]Vibe[/b][/u] As said above, RoboCop: Rogue City gives you the feeling that you are RoboCop and are in the movie. The different settings of the game look like they got copied straight from the movie/s – if you are a fan of the franchise then you will absolutely love the world. But even if not, the game will soak you into its world and keep you until the end. [u][b]Final Thoughts[/b][/u] RoboCop: Rogue City is an excellent FPS with a fantastic atmosphere and intense gory gun fights, no matter if you are a fan of the series or not, if you enjoy FPS with some downtime for story between the shootouts, you will have a wonderful time with this game.
