Roadside Research is a 1 to 4 player co-op gas station simulator. Except you’re aliens. And undercover. Do very human things like restocking shelves while preparing for the invasion. Just don’t get caught.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 5.43/day in the week to Aug 13 → 13.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Aliens have landed on Earth… to run a gas station. Play solo or up to 4 players and do human tasks to blend in. People depend on you, it’s your job to make sure that the shelves have the correct items, refuel customers passing by, and provide food for travelers. But most importantly, you must conduct your research.
Your mission is simple. Gather all data you can from humans without their knowledge. Scan, steal, and test various methods on customers while they stop by the gas station. Be careful not to raise the “suspicion meter” too high, as that will trigger the visit of government officials.
During the day, take care of the gas station as an ordinary employee. Restock the shelves, order wares for the shop, refuel passersby, and exchange goods for cash. At night you will be able to gather your thoughts, and plan for the next day.
Balance between two missions, upgrading the gas station to attract more customers and upgrading your alien tech to process data and gather information more efficiently. To blend in, draw a very normal human expression on your state-of-the-art disguise.
During closing hours, you can also upgrade the station, inside and outside to make sure everything is going according to plan.
Chaotic solo or co-op fun: Gather friends or play alone to manage the gas station while pursuing your alien mission.
Dual Upgrade Path: Manage upgrades for your gas station and for your alien technology at the same time
Satisfying Simulation: Clean, cook, and stock your workplace with all necessary supplies and items to make sure every customer leaves satisfied.
Alien Deception: Make sure to stay disguised and don’t get caught by human government officials. If you are too suspicious, they will turn you into goo.

This game has been such a fun and addicting way to spend time, I'm not even going to lie. Trying to keep your store clean while attending to all of the customers, in addition to being investigated by Men In Black agents while you're trying to run an honest business while exploiting humans is diabolically fun! Playing with friends is a blast and this game makes a lot of different mechanics for all friends to enjoy annoying the heck out of each other. Highly recommend this game if you're into any kind of store simulator games, it's really fun to level up and the constant upgrades and updates to the gameplay keep me coming back! Solid game, highly recommend for friends who like to game and work together while also like the ability to sabotage each other :0)
Good game, fun with friends, can be very buggy
lustiges aufbau spiel
AI Aliens (with) Incontinence. Wish I could set the sweepy bot to ignore glorp puddles so I can can it for energy. A goofy fun time otherwise
This game has a lot of good mixed in with a lot of jank. I do recommend it, as I'm having a fun time playing with a friend, but it requires a bit of patience sometimes. The Good: - The devs clearly have a great sense of humor, and it shows in the game. The customization options crack me up, and so do all sorts of little things in the environment and plot. - The upgrade tree is quite large and gets you excited to unlock stuff. Plenty of automation upgrades like you'd want in a game like this. - A fun mix of tradtional store simulator and whacky alien stuff. You still get the satisfying loop of product stocking, store upgrading, ect, but you also get to fend off government agents, analyze humans, and aide in The Invasion. Two different currency types incentivise you to do both. The Neutral: - The suspicion system is really interesting, and I do like the concept. However, maybe I just missed something while being the non-hosting player, but it felt like very little of it was explained and it caused a lot of confusion. Could do with a better tutorial for that part. - If you are someone who gets motion sick from games, you're gonna want to turn your mouse sensitivity waaaay down, and even then maybe take frequent breaks. I only ocassionally get motion sick in games, but this one got me hard. I recognize that this is half on the game, half on my biology, so I'm calling it neutral. The Bad: - Truthfully I find the register really frustrating to use. The physics on the items while scanning is so janky that the items constantly fly off into the distance and must be scanned again once they respawn on the counter. I was the main cashier in our group, so I got a lot of practice, and I can confirm it's not really a skill issue, it's just like that. The register and screen is also so tiny that it can be frustrating making change and putting in the total for cards. This part does get easier with practice, but I feel it could still use some re-working. - The tools disappear and respawn on in the alien room at seemingly random intervals. I have yet to figure out exactly what triggers this, so it's a lot of turning to grab your camera, and realizing it suddenly despawned again. - A moderate amount of bugs. Worth noting I played multiplayer, unsure if it's better in single player. We had to exit and restart the day a couple of times due to bugs. Stuff like getting stuck in the camera menu, being unable to complete a gas refuel, a customer getting stuck in a perpetual loop, ect.
