A brutal godlike village sim that melds the god game, management, and tower defense genres! Fight off hoards of monsters at night, and expand your village in the day time. Inspired by games like Black and White, Rimworld, and Dwarf Fortress but not quite like any of them.

It's not fun to play. There's too many limitations, in where you can build things and how much. You can upgrade your main camp and another building to unlock the option to build more buildings. I don't find this game to be very visually appealing. I get eight bit graphics are a thing, but can't we use more than five pixels for each object? The food system seems to be overly complicated, and I can't tell if I'm going to generate enough to feed everyone. It always seems like the population is spread very thin across all the buildings and there's no way to tell if everyone is pulling their weight. I'll be upfront and say I don't enjoy tower defence games or games where I need to micromanage things. I'd prefer the people to be self sufficient.

Amazing game. Planning on completing it. Wish me luck.
This game does not work. I can't stress this enough. If you go into skirmish it does not function the way it supposed to and you can't do anything. I watched tutorials of how the game is supposed to work and this is clearly not it. It just doesn't work.
boring grind with bad ai
Fun game, but the fact that villagers don't really follow the priorities you set makes it very frustrating. I'm tempted to NOT recommend the game, but I will in the hopes that the developers fix the priority issue.
This is a good game. There's deff some negative reviews because you can ♥♥♥♥ up and not know for several hours after... But that doesnt take away from the fact that its a great and unique rts game.
New Player Experience - "Hey, this game is hard, build a village near some resources, here's the button to build a camp." That's it. Not a fan of the 'figure it out' version of 'hard'.
Listen, if you aren't into long draw out tedious base building games, then this isn't the game for you. You want your game to only take an hour or so? Go play starcraft or something idk. This game takes forever to get things done. But if you love the type of game where you base build for days at a time, like dwarf fortress style, then you will love this game.
This game si so cool, also I'll use this review to share to the world what the dev said on his X account about his new project and the new update for Rise of Ruins: https://x.com/RaymondDoerr/status/1925328193642188807 So please, before leave a bad review, search sources on the internet...
