Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Begin with a single base and gradually transform it into an interstellar power.
Colonize new worlds, construct fleets, organize supply lines, manipulate markets, train spies, raid rivals and build influence across a galaxy that continues developing in real time.
Riftborne is a slow-burn sci-fi grand strategy game built around long term planning. Campaigns can unfold over days, weeks or even months. Small decisions compound over time, supply problems become military crises, minor rivals become major powers, and carefully prepared plans can reshape the galaxy.
A successful empire depends on more than military strength.
Manage production, storage and logistics across multiple colonies. Establish trade routes and resource shipments. Develop specialized worlds, maintain defensive networks and prepare your economy to survive prolonged wars.
Send spies to gather intelligence, sabotage rivals and expose enemy weaknesses. Hire galactic operatives, negotiate with other powers and use economic pressure when direct conflict would be too costly.
The galaxy remembers what happens within it through campaign histories, rankings, medals and long term progression.
Enemy powers adapt to your behavior, including patterns established across previous saves.
Procedural galaxies create different strategic geography each campaign, while long running systems allow alliances, rivalries and economic dependencies to develop naturally over time.
Play a solo campaign at your own pace.
Host a private server locally, online or through SSH.
Join regularly scheduled official multiplayer galaxies with factions and up to 120 commanders competing inside the same persistent universe.
Riftborne is deliberately dense, patient and information driven.
It is made for players who enjoy learning interconnected systems, gradually building momentum and watching early decisions produce consequences much later.

I have not gotten deep into the game at all, so I can't state much about the mechanics and so forth. The game functions in a lot of ways that I personally appreciate a lot. If you like light weight games, this is likely something you woul like to have around, for PvE, PvP, and for solo playing. My hours in the game at this time are mostly from running it in the background.
I appreciate games like this, the old ASCII style is very cool and it's impelmented in an easy to handle way. The entire game could be played with just the arrow keys and the enter key, making it much less cumbersome than some others of the style. I do get a bit of that "One more turn" syndrome out of this by just advancing another 10 minutes or handling that big raid coming towards me before sending out a raid myself and then handling the next big one. My only criticisms so far is that early game is a slugfest. I'm in endless defensive battles against seemingly the entire universe. From the day my people are born they learn to build ships to replace the ones that we just defended with. I feel like the defensive side needs something other than ships, something that can handle combat a little better but is incapable of raiding or fighting itself. I'm also finding asteroid and strategic bases to be of little use early on, even though you get them early. Defending them would require exposing your home world to raids, so it appears as though you're better off ignoring them until you can get another full sized base that can also produce units to defend itself. Overall the game is very cool and a neat experience, especially for the price. I get the feeling there's a bit more to learn, and that there will be more added with time so I'm eager to see how the game expands.

I like the concept, but it's not ready yet. The UI is confusing and the documentation in-game is a mess.
This game is the best. This game is relaxing as hell the Music, Aesthetic and the gameplay in it self. Also it has the best devs ever super sweet and helpfull and dont get me started on the community probally the best one ever. And if you came here to find out What the game is actually about well here you go: its a faction like warfare game ( online and solo ) Where you have to manage resources and make a spaceship army how cool is that, and if you ask if theres more im too lazy to write it all but yes theres more lots more. Also this game takes time to learn slight learning curve but 100% worth it and it takes a lot of time to play it. But overall rating 10/10 and theres so much I want say but it’ll take thousands of more words and if youre starting out go watch redsun on YouTube he has a tutorial video maybe a little outdated ( hopefully he will make an updated version soon ) that was all for this mini novel of review. Plz like this review so it can grow and get even more people to join the riftborne community. Best of luck to yall New players and have a blessed life bye.
ignore playtime. ive put many hours in. good game. fun in the current state and likely to continue to improve
Really good Early access! There is a lot of update (every few days ATM) Can't wait to see how the game develop during the rest of the year!
Somehow the entire game is playable in a Powershell terminal, absolute gem in 2026.
scratches an itch that I never thought would be scratched
Exceptionally ambitious game and just as deep, can only imagine how much larger and better this game will be in the future considering how feature rich it is right now already and its only just entered EA. Dev is super active and very passionate which is a great sign for the future.
Ignore my playtime, I have played more hours since I launch the game directly with a terminal on Linux. I would describe this game as a 4x mmorts. While it's possible to play the game offline, the strategic aspects shine with the multiplayer component of the game. The developers are very active and are receptive to feedback, which combined with the price, makes the game worth the purchase compared to others of this genre. --- When you enter a multiplayer game of Riftborne, you will be greeted with a culture selection screen. There are currently three factions: Astrarean, Varkon, and Veil. Each culture have their own unique buildings they could construct. You will also be placed in a faction with other players. This is apparent from the screenshots on the store page. What isn't apparent is that each culture has a resource they have a discount in. For example, if you're playing an Astarean, then you will have an excess of Aurelite in your storage. Vulkron for Varkon. Deuterium for Veil. Players from other cultures will need the materials you are specialized in so that you are incentived to work with your faction members or (temporary) allies. This is the first layer of strategy that should be considered since you don't want to have an excess of one culture in a faction. The ships in each culture aren't equal and there are a variety you could include in your fleets. Veil ships are glass cannons, Vakron ships are slow and tanky, and Astarean ships are somewhere in between but have a longer build time. Light ships are fast and numerous, but heavy ships are more resource efficient than their light counterparts. Riftborne, at its core, is a team based conflict-centric game. There is only one win condition as of the time of this review, and only one faction can win. Two of the three cultures have their economies based on raiding resources from other players. This doesn't mean you have to engage in the offensive as an individual player. You could become the economic backbone of your faction and set up trade routes to feed resources to your frontline faction members. You could create an organization, issue shares and loans, and make sure your faction has access to high tier relics (activatable buffs) from the Noctmark economy. You could provide intel for your faction through a fleet of spy ships and keep track of your enemies. An organized faction should have several roles a player could focus on. Riftborne has several layers of game mechanics you can engage with. There's also the rts aspect of the game, with its timing, build orders, and strategy in general. For example: Do you want to start building your fleet the moment you spawn in and have an advantage when the protection timers drop, or do you want to focus on your economy? Do you want to rush for a level 10 Spire and grab an early mining outpost, or save your outposts slots to respond to an enemy faction? — Overall, I recommend Riftborne if you're into this specific genre of games. You're looking at several hours of content at a cheap price if the other reviews haven't made that apparent already.
