We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.

I enjoyed story and puzzles it took me a while to get used to new art but it grew on me.
As it should be
Good game. Although I miss the original pixel art and the MI3 style, it still has its charm.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Was a little put off by the change of art style, but very quickly got used to it. Writing is phenomenal, has me chuckling quite often. I think this style would be awesome if they will ever make a sequel to Grim Fandango.
its good
Return to Monkey Island is MI in top form. The new style fits with the charm MI games are known for, the puzzles are more intuitive even in hard mode, the new characters fit right in with the rest of the cast and there are new areas along with remixed ones. There are plenty of Quality of Life options to offer faster pacing such as fast travel and a hint book that doesn’t affect the achievements. The game is well structured in that the first 3 chapters are linear while the fourth chapter is open and the final chapter wraps things up. The controls with a mouse and keyboard are good again compared to the previous game, Tales of Monkey Island. That said, I’m mostly disappointed by the way the game ends. I understand what they were trying to do but it should have been delivered with more punch. An ending is so important when wrapping things up that I can’t help but feel slightly down even though the rest was so good. The rest of the flaws are more nitpicks: the way the trivia cards are handled, how skipping dialogues works and the speedrunner achievement stood out as weaker aspects. I like the idea of collecting cards with questions you answer based on your knowledge of the games. But I don’t like the quantity (175), they drop in specific areas you have to revisit too many times and many of the questions are so hardcore that you will want to use a guide. You want to do that regardless because you lose the cards and you have to find them again if you give the wrong answers. Everything about the cards is giving me the ick, as if their purpose is only to make the game longer in a tedious way. I would have preferred a smaller quantity in specific spots and you not losing them if you give the wrong answers. As for skipping dialogues, I’m not sure I’m doing something wrong but it only seemed to work by repeatedly pressing a button. It felt like I was damaging my keyboard, my fingers were getting tired and skipping didn’t feel speedy enough. And lastly, it’s not a secret that I dislike speedrunner achievements, especially when they don’t fit. I like the game so much that I got it with a guide but I didn’t feel good about it. It really has no business in an adventure game that’s all about exploring and taking your time. Regardless of everything mentioned, Return to Monkey Island is a great game that should please most fans. Newcomers might be able to enjoy the game purely for its quality but they will miss out on character relations and motivations. It’s better to have played some of the previous games. In terms of price, the normal price of €24,50 is so so. It’s preferable to get it on sale but go for it if money is not an issue. It took me over 16 hours to complete the game twice and get all the achievements. First time was on hard and second time was speedrunning in casual. There are too many achievements that can easily be missed, that’s why it’s better to play with an achievement guide that warns you of this from the get go.
Gioco bellissimo che tiene fede alla saga
ist ein sehr tolles erweiterrung für monkey island empfle ich sehr weiter sehr tolles spiel lohnt sich zu haben
Easier than the previous games, very enjoyable and has a good length. The humour is less gritty than it was before, but I could still feel the unique touch of the OG creators. I wasn't sure about the art style at fist, but once past the intro I found it unique, very charming and more fluid than I expected. Overall, this might be my favourite game of the series!
