Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 18.71/day in the week to Aug 7 → 26.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Waldo (from Where's Waldo) was my best customer. But then he broke my special edition copy of Xenocat and when I charged him to replace it, he threw Popcorn at me. 10/10

I need to shout out my absolutely goated video store employee, Susan! <3 Fast at the return counter and checkout, never took a sick day, handled angry customers, never quit when I demanded she work faster. No other employee was as much of a unit as her. On the final day at the shop, I fired her so she could go find better opportunities in the world. I was a terrible boss and she deserved better so I let her go. Moving on, I think the game was very fun. Customization isn't super detailed though, so you won't be able to customize everything, but most things you can. This is a cozy game where you can settle in and play for hours, even when it becomes a bit monotonous. The fun part is seeing what new releases come out, all the town events and stuff. I wish there was more interactivity in the game though. There are a couple of customers that look like they stepped out of a Roald Dahl book and I would catch myself thinking 'what's the deal with that guy?' And I cannot speak to them or interact with them at all! I wish the devs had added just a bit of dialogue with the regular customers, nothing too elaborate. Just a couple of lines every now and then. You also run out of new things to unlock, because after a certain level you have bought everything you can possibly buy (although I know the devs are coming out with updates). I spent my surplus of money on buying 15 robots and throwing them around my shop like an obstacle course. I also took a bunch of boxes and piled them high in the bathroom and turned the lights off in the shop. It was more fun that way. This game is a breeze to get through and eventually, you can just turn your brain off and go through the motions, which become muscle memory quickly. If you play with the keyboard, the controls are great although the move tool sucks.
This is an amazing cozy game done right! I love the vibe and simplicity of it all. There's not much to complain about. Just having to rewind movies is tedious. I also wish you could hire a 2nd employee sooner, but that's it. It's easy to pick up and play, and really hits my favorite kind of indie genre. It's really just a chill game worthy of your time and purchase if you wanna go back to 1990, or you like simulator games made correctly.
It was fun at the beginning but as you reach level 10 it gets boring. Your movie selection becomes larger and your staff member is supposed to help you. But they are constantly sick, fall asleep or need to go to the bathroom. No new mechanics are added, yes drinks and snacks which you have to restock but nothing that you use every day. The cotton candy, popcorn and slushies rarely get used and there's someone that wants something from you every minute in some random part of the store. The return station takes forever to finish and your employee spends the entire day sorting the movies in weird orders, building a square around the shelves and adding movies in the middle. It was fun up until level 10 then got extremely repetitive but the idea is good.

Great game! It let's me relive some of the most fun moments of my childhood, going to Blockbuster on the weekends to rent movies. Thank for making this game!
