About

Set 15 years before A Plague Tale: Requiem, play as Sophia, a fierce young plunderer, on the run but determined to uncover the secrets of her past. Dive into an original story blending combat, myth and fate with a brand new take in the universe of A Plague Tale.
Sophia’s journey leads to the Minotaur' Island, where she faces deadly trials, navigates treacherous trails, solves puzzles, all while fighting and staying one step ahead of the army chasing her. But the true challenge awaits, as the terrifying creature hidden behind the myth will soon resonate with her…

Sophia is a skilled, agile, and strong-willed fighter who engages in dynamic and violent melee combat. Followed by many enemies, each drawn to the Island to reclaim a mysterious treasure, you must navigate a treacherous maze. Rely on your agility, tricks and sharp reflexes to outsmart enemies, perfect your parries, and unleash powerful strikes to survive deadly encounters.

Shift between the Middle Age of Sophia and ancient Minoan times, where echoes of the past shape the battles of the present. Unfold a new story in the universe of A Plague Tale, through the entwined destinies of two heroes linked by fate and the Macula’s mysterious legacy.

Guided by the knowledge safeguarded in your notebook, follow in your crew’s footsteps to explore a richly detailed world, unravel its secrets, and face deadly trials. Use a stolen Minoan sphere to solve ingenious puzzles by manipulating light - a force woven by Daedalus into the island’s very heart.

It is said that only a few came back from the island. Lurking in the shadows lives a restless presence. It follows you around, seemingly knowing your every move, as it hunts through the island’s depths.
Every step is a risk. Every pause, a potential end. You can’t stop, only hide, outsmart, and push forward. Can you survive each trial and every step or will you join those who never came back?

Reviews
A new A Plague Tale game is here, this time starring Sophia. Honestly? She was my least favourite character in the previous Requiem. So, my initial thought about this new entry is simply: less is sometimes more...
Gameplay
This entry introduces an innovation in the form of close-quarters combat. Woooow... If the game lasted another 20 hours, I probably would have started getting bored, because the combat system isn't very deep. I might surprise myself by saying this, but it honestly didn't bother me that much here. Plague Tale has simply never been about pure action.
Story wtf???

Alright, we play as Sophia and discover new secrets on the island. Only she keeps having hallucinations where she relives the combat trials of the mythical Theseus from roughly 3,000 years ago... The first time it was kind of fun, I admit, but the fourth time??? Every time Theseus disrupted the momentum of a solidly unfolding story, I felt like unplugging my PC from the wall. The game also pushes way too hard into fantasy monumentalism. Yes, we play a fantasy game with little rats... but brooo, here it was just a bit too much at times, and they really wiped their ass with Greek mythology.

Audiovisuals & Voice Acting
The music carries a strong Greek vibe. It definitely wasn't bad, I was occasionally vibing to it, but it's not really a soundtrack that would stick in my memory or make me want to listen to it on Spotify on repeat. The graphics, however, are a completely different league. They look stunning and are brilliantly optimized even for my RTX 3060. I ran it smoothly on medium-high settings and FPS never dropped below 60. And the voice acting? Nothing more needs to be said, Plague Tale simply has a luxury voice cast and the characters were a joy to listen to.
Overall Impression
The game wasn't bad in the end. I am a bit bummed, though, that I breezed through it in under 14 hours. Sure, you could probably stretch it out a bit more, but the side content compared to the main storyline is extremely unengaging. Mostly it's just picking up items with zero story relevance. Emotionally, the game tries to hit hard at times, and although after mourning Hugo from the last game almost nothing phases me anymore, I still can't say a tear didn't sneak out at the end. My overall impression is 7/10, or maybe 8/10 if I squint a little bit. I had fun, but it didn't manage to surpass the previous Plague Tale games in anything (except for the graphics, who would have thought... :D).

Audiovizuál a herecké výkony
A dabing?

game good
It has built upon the first two games and is easily one of the best games I've played in 2026. The visuals are fantastic, the atmosphere is incredible, the story and execution are compelling, the combat system is light-years ahead of the first two games and enjoyable, the level design is brilliant, and the soundtrack is wonderful. The puzzles are neither too easy nor frustratingly hard—I think they struck the perfect balance. On top of that, the optimization is great too. I really wish we had more games like this.
Amazing story and characters, and the graphics and visuals are gorgeous. Highly recommended
Great game so far! I love the story and the detailed characters: everything you come to expect from Asobo.
