A great single player RTS that doesn't demand a hefty time investment to fully enjoy. Regiments manages to balance being just complex enough to appeal to RTS/RTT veterans (like me) while streamlining its tactics/controls so it's not a micromanaging nightmare. It makes it a more laid back experience compared to other intense RTT games. The unit AI is a standout. I never felt like I was babysitting my units (besides helicopters but they make sense to babysit) allowing me to trust them when I had them in a good position while I was focused on other units. General rule of thumb is make the most use of your veteran units and not all tanks are created equal (T80s and M1 Abrams tend to win most head to head engangements). The enemy AI is also good even if on normal difficulty they tend to move their units in big blobs (making artillery and air strikes very useful). The variety of regiments to use helps make each skirmish or operation feel fresh forcing you to utilize different strategies depending on the regiment. One of best single player RTS games to come out the last few years.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

10 Т-55 из 10 Первый раз играю варгейм и игра никак не оттолкнула, а только притянула к себе. Жалко что мультиплеера нет и артиллерия сама по себе не работает, а надо каждый раз наводить.
Good game
I've played through this game start to finish and I have to say, it's actually very well made. It might not have the star power or budget of some of the bigger titles out there, but it's definitely worth your time and money to check it out. The controls are easy to pick up, it's intuitive and has lots of good QoL features, it has some interesting mechanics like the combat engineers and the fire support system, the combat feels tough but always fair, the AI behaves competently enough, and it's really just well-built and satisfying to play. I'm especially fond of the platoon system and how the infantry are handled. In most of the games in this style that I've seen, infantry are usually completely useless and die instantly if they're not in a building, but adding in the different levels of entrenchment and actually giving them a degree of resilence makes a world of difference and makes the fighting that more interesting. Having different units actually fight together in cohesive organized groups is also refreshing, and the way it's handled is really well done. I don't think I'd go as far to say it's better than controlling individual units, but it's definitely a nice change of pace and it's done very well. I'd love to see it come back in a sequel someday. Thematically, this game hits all the sweet spots. The writing for the campaign really nails that brutal, cynical Cold War atmosphere, and the Regipedia and the little exerpts and quotes in it give it a whole world of character. The developers definitely did their research and know their history. I do kind of wish they dug deeper into the chemical warfare side of things because the CBRN units look sick and I feel like there could be some interesting mechanics that could tie into that. Chemical artillery maybe? Food for thought. All in all, I'm very happy with this title. Some of the visuals are a bit austere like the terrain, and the music tracks are forgettable enough that I actually had to stop and think if it had any, but other than that, I've got no notes. It's a great game and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a solid RTS.
The devs focused on maintaining a distance from other games of the genre to deliver a fun strategic experience that is surprisingly immersive. It's a roguelike strategy game that plays a bit like a board game while looking good enough to get you into the Kino vibes. Actually the attention to details is very nice, vehicle paints have proper markings for their squad and platoon. The units dont really use roads or buildings but it will count in their combat statistics, but yeah the units are essentially glorified chess pieces... the core of this game is in the choices you make in between phases and how you allocate your reserves. Each regiment has a different set of units that vary in performance and specialization which makes them stand out in subtle ways. The doctrine of this game is to have reserves rolling within a single combat formation rather than deploy all of your units at once they are stacked as reserves to call as reinforcement if you lose that platoon or it retreats. Lastly, I started following the operations and while it does follow the generic cold war drama of such games, it manages to keep me wondering what the next part of the story will be. The story seems good, it has a darker tone with anti-war elements (although a wargame can never really be anti-war).
Much more accessible than the competition. Not an easy game, don't get me wrong, but it's much more obvious when you've made a mistake than a lot of the competition. Plus the controls and UI are easier to understand. Incredible effort and glad I purchased it.
Amazing tactics-level RTS. I love the Wargame series, but at its "top-tier" on both singleplayer and multiplayer the amount of units is crazy, those games tend to go into the strategy layer from the sheer density of units while still requiring stupid amounts of micromanagement. This game is much more manageable, while still being very deep and accurate around units etc, and the story-driven operations are IMO much better than anything Eugen has done recently Intuitive gameplay, performs well (for my specs anyway, won't make claims for performance on mid or low tier systems), enjoyable AI and mission structure, and probably the best campaigns in the genre (I'm only halfway through the 4th, but the quality level is so consistent I'd be surprised if it drops at any point, will tweak this review if so) Will probably modify this review to add my opinion on the DLC gamemode after I'm done with all the main Operations. The fact that it's singleplayer-only also helps in that you can more or less "choose your own difficulty" for skirmishes and the DLC procgen operations, depending on what regiment you decide to play. They're not balanced, some factions clearly have worse gear, and that's okay (rather than trying to force balance by including unrealistic other-country units like Eugen has to sometimes)
Very good very fun. The best way to describe it is simplified Wargame for people with ADHD. The core gameplay is similar, but there is a lot less micromanaging and losing units doesn't hurt as much. If you like RTS wargames this is definitely something you should get, even full price. Definitely a lot of care, love and detail went into making this game and it shows. Sadly only singleplayer, but the skirmish mode and campaigns are very fun to play. Deckbuilding here is done in a different way than in Wargame. You choose a regiment and get some basic unit at the start, and then as the battle goes on, you get to choose more units to add to the roster. (in campaigns you unlock and upgrade them before battles). In skirmish battles your units don't die permanently, and if they are destroyed they become available after some time. You can also retreat them to make them gain veterancy levels. Skirmish is also very customisable, aside obvious stuff like duration of the match, income rate, choosing the map etc. you can also choose time of day and weather and customise weapon damage, accuracy, range... In campaigns you have a limited amount of reinforcements you can deploy, but you can replace them between battles. This also ties in nicely with the whole campaign economy, where you have to decide what to spend your limited points on. (replacements units, supplies, deployment points etc.). Another fun thing in campaigns are the random event cards you have to pick between battles. This includes stuff like additional recon, additional off map artillery, locked supplies or units for the duration of the battle etc.
