About
Recettear is the story of an item shop, the girl who lives in it, and the fairy who turned her life upside down. Recette Lemongrass finds herself in charge of an item shop built into her house, in order to pay back a loan her father took and then skipped out on - and Tear, her newfound fairy "companion", won't take no for an answer! As Recette, you have to decide how you'll get your stock - either through playing the markets in town or going out into the wild with an adventuring friend and thrashing beasts until they give up the goodies - how much to sell things for, what the shop should look like, and how to best go about getting the money Tear needs to pay off the loan. If you can't come up with the money... well, hope you like living in a cardboard box.

Even if you try excluding the memes/legacy, it's honestly the best game you can get during this Steam Capitalism and Economy sale, hands down. Capitalism, HO!
RIP SpaceDrake/Andrew Dice. You were a trailblazer alongside Robin with your company Carpe Fulgur, and helped pave the way for dojin games to explode into the west via Steam. Rest well. Recettear is a wonderful little shop simulator where you play as a kid, Recette, whose garbage father has left her saddled with immense amounts of debt, so she turns to selling things in the little store they call home to try and pay it off and not end up in a cardboard box on the street. To do so, you can buy and sell items from citizens, or hire an adventurer to go into the dungeon and harvest monster drops to craft into things to sell at the store. Paying attention to popular or unpopular item trends is vital, and haggling with customers while paying attention to their tells(the way they react to offers can indicate you've ALMOST but NOT QUITE made the deal, etc) is the key to maximizing profits. The dialogue and comedy in the game is surprisingly great, thanks to the translation efforts of Carpe Fulgur. This game came out in 2010, and the efforts of those two translators was so ahead of its time, consider that Super Meat Boy, one of the "classic" indies, came out the same year this did on Steam! Wild! The gameplay loop is solid and surprisingly difficult, and the story isn't too shabby either! The music is pretty run of the mill, until you get towards the later parts of the game. I recommend looking up "Sougen", it's a wonderfully jaunty, uplifting theme. Contrast that with easily the best track in the game, "Lost World", look that up and be amazed. Genuinely phenomenal and tense music track for the final dungeon. I was so looking forward to seeing the Recettear HD release with Spacedrake and Robin's translation work on it. Sadly, that will never happen, it seems, as with Andrew's passing, Carpe Fulgur has been closed down. What a tragedy.
What do you mean you won't buy this rusty sword for 250% market price?
Does it have issues running on newer hardware? Yes. Does it have outdated resolution? Yes, Is it a simple and good game, so good that it trumps those issues? Yes. Is it the best item shop rpg out there? Yes. What more could be said about Recettear? It's one of my favorite games and I'm happy to finally have purchased it on steam.
I'll be real with you, I started to find the dungeon parts really tedious so I decided to see if you could beat the game (paying off all major debt) exclusively using trading and good negotiation. Spoiler, you absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ can and that's amazing. Capitalism, ho indeed.
the best game of all time, unable to be recreated, egyptian pyramid levels of alien technology were granted to the devs and then revoked upon this masterpiece's completion. only excuse for nothing resembling this game being released in the last 10 years
别看那些被老评论,我尝试了他们的方法结果报错了,现在应该这样做,对游戏右键管理里面把英语改成日语这样游戏会更新到1.126版本可以直接使用汉化补丁了,不要去官网下载补丁!!
