Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.88/day in the week to Jul 21 → 2.8/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's quite fun and enjoyable, but also a very good way to pass the time if there isn't much to do, each in-game day can last a full real day depending on your settings, and how large your line is, you also do not need to pilot each loco manually, you can tell locomotives to go to places, or to couple to things, and they'll just do it. In addition, the game is based on Unity, which means you get access to loads of mods via UnityModManager, even though the game is still in EA, there are plenty of mods made by very talented people that add in Locomotives, new businesses to deliver cars to, the cars themselves, cargos. There is even a mod that flattens the Red Marble Grade, one of the toughest grades in the whole game for locomotives to conquer. Overall it is quite a fun game, it is a little bit pricey for what the base-game contains, but it's nowhere near the cost of something like TSW and its millions of DLCs. PROS: +loads of mods and easy to mod +excellent for just passing the time +sandbox mode +nice looking rolling stock +options to toggle how much shunting/switching you want +runs well on Linux using Proton (you can even mod it, provided that UMM is being ran with WINE, Rail Loader also works on Linux natively too, but it no-longer is offically distributed because of controversy surrounding it and the creator. It is required for most map mods.) CONS: -some keybinds are a bit of a pain to find -mightve needed a tiny bit more time in the oven -graphics of the terrain aren't very good, and grass can be a performance hog -a few of the cargos in the game do not have a model, so the wagon they are on looks empty (devs have said they are wanting to fix this in the next update) -no way to tell a loco to go and refuel itself -some steam locos have weird interactions with the fueling stations, like water hoses clipping into the loco model (do not worry, none of the fueling stands for steam and diesel locos have a collision, so its just visual) -i spent so much time playing that my dog sold off my house, and i am now being evicted. OVERALL 8/10, would definitely recommend if you are into trains, especially late American steam locos and early American diesels, there is also much talk of MoW work trains being added in a future update, so you can maintain trackage aswell, I do not think there is any other train simulator that has this feature on the market, not even Derail Valley.

this is a nice game and i like it because it has trains and you can make them do all the work and it is really fun. so if you like trains and making them do jobs and all the work then you will probably like Railroader
What we have here is a very nice little railway game, not particularly demanding but with a solid understanding of and knowledge about locomotives that played a major role in the settlement of the American continent. I personally like it very much. Good Work! Thank you.
I've played for over 500 hours unmoded. I enjoy the complexity of the game and the problem solving challenge to it. The pace is as fast as you want it to be. I've nearly completed all of the milestones - currently working on the last one. I've been going slow and deliberate. Hopefully they'll continue to expand the game to add additional locomotives, car types, etc. and maybe allow time periods E.G. steam, early diesel, modern, etc. Likely at some point I'll add mods as the community has developed several that look interesting. I just opened up the entire line and loving the challenges of running trains over it with both interchanges working. Scheduling passenger trains was sort of a PIA and there could be come improvements with the A.I. logic, but it's still enjoyable. Wish the sidings were selectable on the map or some way to jump to those locations (there might be - I just haven't found it yet). Currently I go to the closest town and then scroll to get to the siding I'm looking for. Overall, still a great game.
THIS is how you make computer games people. Easy to pick up with an enormous amount of depth. This game has singlehandedly restored my faith in the gaming industry. Just WOW!!
