About
R.U.S.E. is back in its Definitive Edition, including all DLCs and Steam Deck support.
R.U.S.E. is a uniquely distinctive real-time strategy game where bluffing become your most powerful weapons to lead your nation to victory. Immerse yourself in World War II with the exclusive IRISZOOM® engine, which gives you an unparalleled view of the battlefield, from close-up inspection of individual units to a bird's-eye overview reminiscent of board gaming.
In R.U.S.E., every battle is a battle of wits and perception. Deploy RUSE cards to deceive your enemy, camouflage your troops, deploy decoys, or spy on your opponents.
RUSE becomes a central gameplay element, delivering unprecedented strategic depth.
Campaign: Embody Major Joe Sheridan in an immersive adventure spanning from the deserts of North Africa to the plains of Western Europe. Each mission combines strategy, storytelling, and thrilling plot twists.
Operations: Take on independent tactical challenges designed to test your skills in extreme situations.
Skirmish vs. AI: Customize your matches to hone your skills or enjoy fast-paced, intense battles against reactive and versatile artificial intelligence.
R.U.S.E. features 2 to 8-player matches on varied, customizable maps faithfully inspired by World War II theaters of operations. Choose your map, game mode, and player distribution (teams or free-for-all).
Available Game Modes
Classic Mode: All units available from the start, depending on your chosen era (1939, 1942, or 1945).
Total War: A progressive three-phase mode (1939, 1942, 1945) where new bases and units unlock at each stage.
Nuclear Mode: The race for the atomic bomb, the first to produce and deploy nuclear artillery wins the match.
Ranked Mode: Face strategists from around the world and climb the global leaderboard.
Victory Conditions
Victory is achieved by either destroying all enemy bases and units or accumulating more points than your opponent by the end of the time limit. You earn points for every enemy unit destroyed, rewarding tactical gameplay and daring maneuvers.
Bluffing lies at the heart of the strategic experience. RUSE are special cards you can activate at any moment to influence enemy perception, reinforce your troops, or gain crucial intelligence. They provide unprecedented gameplay depth, transforming every engagement into a duel of wits and bluff.
RUSE cards are divided into four major categories:
Reveal Information (decryption, espionage)
Conceal Information (radio silence, camouflage)
Create Decoys (dummy units, false offensives)
Alter Unit Behavior (blitz, terror)
By combining these cards, you'll orchestrate complex strategies and turn the tide of battle.
In R.U.S.E, each faction embodies a great power of World War II, bringing its own units, specificities, and playstyles. Choosing a faction means adopting a different strategic approach, tailored to your preferences and personality as a strategist.
United States: Versatility and industrial might.
Germany: Quality and firepower.
France: Resilience and defense.
United Kingdom: Air power and artillery.
USSR: Quantity and durability.
Italy: Speed and mobility.

R.U.S.E.: An intense strategic experience where RUSE and adaptation make the difference.

Amazing game, that has aged like wine. I don't usually post reviews on games, but I feel like this one really deserves it. I have been playing the skirmishes battles and I am having a blast! The gameplay is agile and fun, the strategies you develop actually make sense in the field. It is running amazingly well on my ROG ALLY X, but oit should also run well on slower machines. Can't recommend it enough. It's a classic and a must-have in my honest opinion!
Can't believe this game is back on Steam. I've wanted this game on PC for years even going to the length of emailing the studio. This game got me into strategy games back on the Xbox360. One of my favourite games of all time and still holds up very well today.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

If I had to choose one game from my childhood to keep around, RUSE would be it. RUSE is literally responsible for building up my friend group and making life-long relationships. My friends and I bought so many copies of RUSE when it was de-listed that the price skyrocketed from $10 to somewhere in the hundreds. Yeah, it is an AMAZING game and there still is nothing like it, despite how simple and old it is. PLEASE play this game.
Great game, only posting review to make people aware of extortionate price of definitive additions that really only adds modern hardware compatibility and Steam deck compatibility, will return to play the game if new DLCS and maps etc come out...oh, and adding workshop modding capabilities P.S change the income to be more streamlines, once resources are gone from map, game gets stale and boring
I played this game when it launched on the 360. Absolutely loved this game, and that was when there was a unit cap, saw it used to be on steam and picked up the steam keys before they all surged in price, RIP anyone who paid $1000 for the steam keys. This game was the start of my sleepless nights, I would spend hours just figuring out strengths and weaknesses to every faction. Is this game worth $30? Well some people paid $1000, so ig $30 for the whole thing is pretty worth it.
