From Remedy Entertainment, the masters of cinematic action games, comes Quantum Break, a time-amplified suspenseful blockbuster. The Quantum Break experience is part game, part live action show—where decisions in one dramatically affect the other.

We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 15: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Im glad I played this to catch more Easter eggs in in other Remedy games and experience the hybrid game/show format. But the gameplay is pretty frustrating and most of the collectible reading material didn’t seem worth the time. I found myself waiting for it to be over. Thankfully it’s short.
Just finished the game in 7 hours which included finding all collectibles. You will definitely get more playtime by reading everything and immersing yourself in the environment. A great storytelling game with a couple branching paths that change the plot slightly. Choosing a path will also change the collectibles as well. Different emails and stuff that you can read. This game can easily be 20 hours+. Buy it and have fun!
It sucks seeing Microsoft games this amazing that nobody knows about just because of their terrible marketing. Such a great game.
So I just finished another masterpiece made by Remedy Entertainment.Quantum Break is probably one of the best narratively driven games I've ever played, with a story that's making those high-grossing blockbuster Hollywood movies a run for their money. I recently saw this game on sale so I just had to get it and I absolutely loved every second of it. Main character You play as Jack Joyce, a man in his thirties whose coming to see his old, almost estranged friend Paul Serene, who you'll later on learn that is the game's main antagonist. Jack is a likeable character and he absolutely carries the story throughout. He's definitely a worthy protagonist of the game and after the events of the first act of the game he becomes an unstoppable killing machine. Jack Joyce is portrayed by Shawn Ashmore, a relatively well known Hollywood actor who did an amazing job, much like most of the supporting cast like Aidan Gillen or Lance Reddick. Story The story is extremely complex, at it's core it's revolved around time manipulation and creating fractures in time where time could actually reach it's end, or as the game explains, the end of all humanity. At some point I honestly had trouble following through and I had to pause the game in order to fully understand what is happening because the game can kick off the story into 6th gear and there's a lot of things happening at once. Because of this level of complexity, some players will be put off by it from the get go, but the story is amazingly well written and that's the main reason I wanted to see this whole game through. This game, as many other Remedy games, is not safe from sharing secondary storylines through e-mails, documents and walls of text. Why Remedy does that is beyond me and I never liked that feature, although the game does not force you to follow these storylines at all which is ok I guess. However, the pacing is very good and the story doesn't dwell much on unimportant aspects which I found very appealing, it cuts straight to the point and I just love that. Quantum Break has some problems tying all the loose ends when it comes to the fates of other characters and it leaves some question unanswered, which is a bit frustrating but in overall everything still holds pretty much well. Gameplay Every Act is separated in 3 parts, in the first part you control our hero Jack which is like the main gameplay. This first part is mostly a cover shooter although Jack evolves his time induced powers as you progress and it's beautiful to use and play with these powers, all unique on their own. In the second part you control Paul Serene the antagonist and whenever you play as him you get to choose one of two options which will further tailor the gameplay to that choice you make. I think this is a great feature which lets you shape the story in many different ways if you decide for a 2nd playthrough. The third part is a feature episode, real live episode which is almost like you're watching a TV show based on your choices. This live feature shows what happens to other, secondary characters, who got themselves caught up in the world of Quantum Break. I've never seen this concept before and considering Remedy pioneered it in this game, and still managed to pull an absolute worldie tells you that they're masters of this craft. The game is not extremely hard, I managed to do it on my first playthrough on hard difficulty without much problems because once you figure out all Jacks powers, it almost a breeze to playthrough. Graphics Remedy's Nortlight engine does wonders again in this title, the game is absolutely gorgeous. Again they used motion capture with real life models which will always give a quality product. There are some problems with FPS drops, especially in whole of the 4th Act which can cause severe drops to an almost unplayable state. This problem is fixable, just search online for the fix and you shouldn't have many issues whatsoever. I'm playing on RTX 3070 Ti and I haven't had any problems to run the game at 60 fps. Conclusion Quantum Break is a unique experience. Remedy once again proved why they are the top dogs of narratively driven adventures. This game has a lot of references to other Remedy's projects, like Alan Wake, and it probably fits well in this whole New Weird genre of theirs. Considering the game is Microsoft's IP we'll probably never get a sequel, but as it stands it's probably not needed. Remedy had already outdone themselves once again.
9/10
I rate this 6/10 - played it once, meh, not that big of a deal. If you're heavy into the Remedy verse, you'll play this anyway. I played this to get caught up on the Remedyverse before Control Resonant releases. Compared with the Alan Wake and Control games, this is the weakest entry. The time abilities during combat are interesting, but otherwise the combat is unremarkable - then again I used abilities that worked best for me, I didn't really mix it up much. There are interesting environmental situations involving time that require special handling, but they don't occur very often. I won't go into the rules that the game decides about time travel. I will say that the buildup of the stakes didn't seem all that steep to me - the story is just a connect the dots, do this, do that, accomplish this. There are some opportunities to affect the course of the story. There weren't enough narrative or character aspects to really keep me pulled in, no real existential questions or challenges, no solid or satisfying payoffs. The live action segments between each of the 5 episodes were very well done,. all things considered. I will give kudos to the technical achievements of the game - the character model quality, the motion capture and acting transfer to animation were all worlds above what I've seen in other games, even if it was sometimes a bit jittery. If I score a game an 8/10, it means I'd likely play it again. 7/10 is worth playing once. I give this a 6/10. I played it, I was curious, and now that it's over, meh, it's not that big of a deal. It left some things open ended and unresolved, but I didn't have any personal squee energy for the theory and discussions. I would have appreciated if the game had presented those things as part of the narrative rather than just leaving them for internet discussion. I tend to rate a game based on how much it was worth my time. For what I expected, and what I hoped for in seeing something clever for a game involving time alteration, I didn't get that much. Frankly, Remedy has this habit of leaving the juicer narrative bits floating outside the game for us to add more energy to. Hopefully Resonant tells a meaty story.
The most generically named Guy in video game history Quantums all over the place to fix his brother's science project he Breaks. A slightly whacky relic of the dawn of streaming as a commercial concept, and the Xbox One's launch, but its fun, the writing is good and the visuals are great. Combat is fine, no notes. Solid 7/10 even if the "show" is kinda cringey and skippable. Definitely worth playing for that good Remedy Nonsense
