I have more hours on this game than the deserves and I still don't have the last achievement, which is seeing absolutely everything. This would be okay if there was a skip function, but I have instead had to spam the space bar while multitasking to get to the options and hope that I find the missing couple of pages. My first playthrough or two was fine, but its so annoying that the last achievement takes so much time to get. If you don't care about 100%, its an okay game, the story isn't great by any means, no dialogue tree, just some scattered choices that (mostly) don't have much impact overall. The recon and research is all scattered so it doesn't feel like a linear story, the art is okay but I would have preferred if the full detailed pictures of the characters had the expressions instead of the smaller avatar images off to the side; its just not as visually interesting. The cats aren't all that interesting either, they have fairly stereotypical personalities and there's not enough story to flesh them out (plus collectively they are actively harming the player characters by infecting them with a cat curse, great starting point for a love connection) So over all, it gets boring and repetitive very quickly and the lack of skip function makes replaying to get achievements frustrating. The game isn't really worth the time.

Boring visual novel, the only quirk is that instead of anime girls you have anime cats.

I mean, I guess it's fine if you want to play a game where you date cats, but I didn't find the characters or the overall story particularly compelling. Maybe I'm just spoiled by Hatoful Boyfriend.

Cats? CATS! I could leave my review there and be done with it, and honestly it would be enough to recommend this game, but I feel like I need to explain myself somewhat, since this game is a tad bit weird in it's ... theme. When you first see the game you must be thinking to yourself, "Dating cats?! What the heck is this trash!", but I must say that the game really sells you the story so well that it will eventually make sense why you are dating cats. Obviously the game is all fun and, well, games, and doesn't really seriously recommend anyone to try bestiality. The game itself is a big cat pun and has a lot of fun dialogue and interesting art. Purrfect Date blends mystery, intrigue and wickedly black humor, to create the ultimate crossbreed between visual novel and dating simulator! It's a cat dating sim that is painfully self-aware of it's existence, and delivers sarcastic humor that makes it hilarious and totally endearing. You will play the role of 6 research assistants who have been shipped off to a secret remote location called "Cat Island". As dark secrets and events unfold, you will suddenly find yourself able to communicate with the island's feline inhabitants. And being the feline lover that you are with such well-spoken cats, the next logical choice aside your continued study of the island, is a little kitty romance. The game is definitely worth it for the price that it sells at, but 100% the game was a pain. There is no skip dialogue buttons or anything similar that would make your journey to 100% completion easier after your first playthrough. I figured a good way to use an autoclicker to click through the dialogue faster, but it was still a slog to go through when you had to read the same dialogue a few times. Nevertheless, it's a game that I really enjoyed and I do think it's a worth it experience for any cat lovers and visual novel enjoyers alike!

[h1] Крайне неоптимизированная игра на Unity и без русского перевода [/h1] Мало того, что при старте показывает настройки Unity, так ещё в самой игре максимум 50 кадров. Хотя чему там тормозить непонятно - вся игра двумерная рисованная. Притом рисованная довольно криво, как будто у автора игры линейки не было. Персонажи тоже нарисованы довольно топорно. Так что даже при взгляде на визуальную составляющую уже и дальше играть не хотелось.

The inability to skip, select specific segments, or even player saves (there's an auto-save but that's different) force replays and tedium. And supposedly require seeing every bit of text for completionist stuff. Just give this a pass and read a book or watch a movie. Not sure what the point of naming the Player characters is.

What I expected to be nice, short, easy game turned out to be long story that got me hooked. + very nice, intriguing story + the plot twists you learn at the end! + fun and simple visual novel + nice music Beware of few some big flaws - it might ruin your game - there is no skip button. I could easily spend way less time but after very nice, slow first playthrough I learned I have to read through everything AGAIN. You can only click to skip dialogue. - no save option either - it autosaves after certain things, which at least makes you able to go back if you choose wrong option - some options doesn't make any difference in story Would I buy it again knowing everything? Probably not. It was fun but at the end it got really annoying. If you don't care about getting all endings or achievements and like some chill playthroughts you might enjoy this game :)
