The best plateformer 3d indy, not the best metroidvania but still amazing

I enjoyed the retro aesthetic and platforming challenges. I am not the best at platformers, but i was able to finish this game and enjoy its vibe.

this game is such a cute charming game. graphically, it is sort of retro to it. in a very clean way. everything is simple but it stands out. story wise. i don't really think there is much. you are some sort of thing that invades the mind of a princess who is in a coma or something? i assume you are fighting nightmares or, like in the end, giving her a reason to reawaken. gameplay is really good. it's more of a platform puzzle game than any sort of action game. the combat is very simple, just hit enemies and don't get hit back. you do have some things like reflecting attacks of ranged enemies, or later on getting a ranged attack that you might completely forget about because depending on what route you took while wandering around, you might only use it 3 times at most. my biggest problems are kind of progression, and the really big list of movement tech you can perform. with progression, it sort of is a maze game, and you just have to randomly stumble around until you find the one area you kept missing to get an ability to then go get the next one. having some sort of forcing you into getting these things and not letting you get lost would be nice, since it would cut down the amount of time you spend having no idea what to do. my other problem with the movement, comes mainly from teh time trials, which is really cool especially since it gives you extra outfits to play with. and i get they are supposed to be a challenge. but some of them are very strict, which makes sense. however, maybe it is a me problem, but when i try to perform actions in quick succession, i keep overriding all my other movement making trying to get some of these trials done so infuriating. honestly, all that aside, if you want to play something more unique and different.... and maybe look at some big goat butt..... you might want to try this out.
