A cute little Bullet Hell to play on the side? I'm all in!
I'll keep this relatively short as the game isn't as rocket science as the turotial makes it out to be. You play as Bullet, a Flying Robot Corgi sent to space to recover his owner Nick and release him from the grasp of evil. The game, although amazingly pixel-animated, puts the HELL in Bullet Hell like no other I've played before. You get a bunch of Corgi powers you can use and every level has a boss at the end... And every run you have you uncover new powers. Let me go through them one by one: The first power I've unlocked was Spirit Animal, your Corgi basically sends out his apparatus to the enemy team, which keeps punching them, however Bullet (the Corgi) cannot shoot out bullets and laser anymore. The second power I unlocked by having equipped my Corgi with diagonal lasers was by pushing three switches at the same time and it allows you to Absorb an enemy bullet and the last power I unlocked was by juggling a rune thrown by an enemy into a rune socket (watched it on Youtube lol) and it's basically TIME STOP. The thing is, you won't get far into the campaign if you don't unlock these "secret powers"; and it's quite problematic as some bosses are literally INVINCIBLE without your corgi having these powers. The game is very nice, not chill by any means but it's not so serious you'd have to sit in your chair for a couple of hours you know what I mean?? The only CON I've found with the game is ONE stage where things get too overwhelming, the background is going too fast and you're supposed to go through opening gates on the other side and it's really literal hell... Not in a sense that it's difficult, but it makes your brain hurt. I've had a headache for two days after playing through it twice in a row, I won't make that mistake ever again lol. Other than that, I'd like to point out that you can't beat a certain boss without the Time Stop ability, and you can't get Time Stop without Absorb... So you should focus your first few runs on getting these secret abilities before you try to finish the campaign. ProtoCorgi gets an 8/10, not a ten because you can't play it for too long because of the headache it induces.

This one really hurts to give a negative review especially because it's doing some things so well + Playing as a Corgi The Cute Em Up Style Many different weapon choices and combos Music overall is good Level Editor which gives the game even more life beyond survival and scoring and should be used in more STGs in the future What kills the game for me personally at least is the fact the Corgi moves so slow and the fact that the environments can kill you which is beyond frustrating because I believe personally that only bullets or enemy attacks should kill you in STG games Basically this is R Type with a Corgi skin, not a bad game but seeing as I'm not a fan of R-Type due to not only the really slow ship speed but dying by stupid things as well such as the moving environments Now if you like R Type, pick this up you'll have a blast, if you don't like R-Type then you can skip it so in this game's case Your Mileage May Vary but yeah it's a game that's made competently otherwise
Great gameplay, absolutely amazing soundtrack. This is one of my favorite games now! Kemono Games and Francisco Cerda did a fantastic job.
It's like Gradius III, if the ship were a dog and spamming fire made the ship go BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK Also you can create and share your own levels, which allows you to grief your friends in style.
I love corgis, i love the music, i love the premise. there's a nice amount of things the game does do right. but there are a ton of things this game does horribly wrong. all of the more lengthy negative reviews describe it perfectly. the visual effects in this game are jank and obnoxious. it's less bullet hell and more fighting the game's active attempts to damage your eye sockets so you accidentally stumble into something. the game disconnects the camera partially from the screen and has it zoom in on your character, while having sometimes a second or less to dodge unclear environmental hazards- one of which requiring perfect movement for the slow moving character. with no checkpoints- but around 50 minutes of gameplay, upgrades that feel like they should already be unlocked to truly enjoy the game as it feels like the game was balanced around the secret upgrades, glitched achievements, control jank, visual jank, mechanical jank, i don't regret playing the game. i wanted to love it, but it made me way too mad because it felt extremely unfair. even after i learned what to do when going back it still felt unfair even when i succeeded. also the environment, even when it's just nonthreatening on the sides will still kill you. Hitbox is jank, some powerups are glitched and suck- and you guessed it, jank. the Corgi is adorable, the premise is adorable and i love it, the soundtrack is a banger, but i won't be returning to this game, even though i want to because of the charm. It's like a toxic relationship. I spent more time either wondering how i died, or feeling cheated. having to wait 30 minutes just to understand what the hell killed me is just a time sink at that point. It feels like a game that was specifically meant to cheat you out of your money at an old arcade. hard pass. Soundtrack: 8.5/10 overall score 3.5/10 with a note of i appreciate this product of love and see the effort, it's just not for me- I don't like R-types. it has a lot of potential, but it needed a bit more time to cook. i can only recommend this to people who like R-Types.
Dificuldade desbalanceada, artificial e injusta.
