2009 Slav Starfield - Probably better than starfield.
2009 Ukrainian Starfield. This FPS-RPG has almost everything : planets, weapons, secondary missions, choices, factions, perks, inventory management, upgrades, space fights & mining, stealth, drugs, vehicles... The graphics are nice for a 2009 game, sounds and music are correct, albeit a bit repetitive. The post processing effects are ugly as hell, especially overdone bloom, distractive motion blur and depth of field. The FOV is also low but some of these can be modified by tweaking .INI The writing is so bad it's fun. Most of the time it is really silly (the preacher breaking the 4th wall, the death of your father...) but some other time it gets much more serious. Now for the technical side, well, you will need to patch the game with the unofficial patch. I also had to use DXVK and toggle the Large Address Aware flag on the game .EXE, as well as deleting the cache files and modifying .INI to avoid constant crashes. Also, the game won't run with Reshade. The Precursors is also lacking content, especially once leaving the first planet. It is a shame that devs ran out of fund, it could have been a real masterpiece otherwise. Too few planets to visit despite the dozen of solar systems, not enough secondary missions, short MSQ, repetitive space missions, lack of polish, bugs and crash... Overall, still a good experience and a fun game. Also, very cheap on sale $3. ----- TL;DR : Fun & unique space themed FPS-RPG plagued by lack of content and technical issues, buy only on sale

Required mods/patches to play the game today: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2332327424 This is a interesting game, and I have respect for Deep Shadow for trying to make such an ambitious title with such limited resources. It's basically an open world FPS/RPG/space sim. Which ya...sounds absolutely insane to do with next to no budget. As far as I can tell from some quick online research, Deep Shadow was unable to get funding to finish the project and had to launch it as is. There's ship customization, perks, factions, sim elements, space combat, space trading, quests, open worlds, land vehicle combat...and I'm probably forgetting some things. The issue with trying to include all these systems with next to no budget, is a lot of them feel very simple. Factions barely seem to do anything - non-enemy NPCs of enemy factions will freely talk to you despite having maximum negative rep. The ship customization is limited to linear upgrades for 6 different parts of the ships - Level 1 Blasters, Level 2 Blasters, etc. Deep Shadow would have been better off on removing some of these things and focusing on a smaller scale. Ship combat and FPS combat are both pretty awkward. The last mission is insane with the amount of enemies just showering a storm of bullets on you. Combat can definitely be pretty frustrating, Oh, and by the way, this probably the most abrupt ending I have seen in any medium ever. As stated earlier, they ran out of money. The game basically ends as the story really starts to get going. Despite all my issues and a level of unimaginable jank, I quite enjoyed my time with it. It's nothing amazing...but its decent and has its moments. It's more of an object of fascination than a must play, but I think it's worth messing around in.
Лучше во много раз чем старфилд
Better than Starfield!
Я много писать пока что не буду, просто скажу что недооцененная игра в свое время, с нее слизали многие идеи такие популярные проекты как Borderlands 1 No Man's Sky и другие, а эта игра осталась в тени, хотя многие идеи появились тут раньше чем в других перечисленных играх, да скажу что еще озвучка очень понравилась и атмосфера. Рекомендую кому нравится научная фантастика, для своего времени 2009 года 10/10
"Starfield at home" but with extra "slavjank". However for a very obscure, yet ambitious 2009 game it still holds up quite well. And unlike before mentioned AAA game it doesnt have load screens every 5 seconds, has vehicles and multiple handcrafted planets with actual aliens.
ну ета старфильд тока лучшэ
Absolute bada ss game. There is TOO much going on. This would have blew me away 10 years ago but I am extremely frugal with my time and this game is going to take a ton, which is a good thing in this case due to its complexity but I can't care enough to invest in this particular flavor of scenery. There's too much to learn and that makes me anxious so I'm passing but you should try it (with the patch)
Man, what is there to say. Ive played the game "Boiling Point" wich was made by this studio when I was younger and it still is one of my favorit game of all time. Sadly Ive never knew it had a second installment namely "Xenus White Gold" and I wouldve absolutely loved to play Precursors when I was younger. However I can still completely enjoy this game and recommend it to everyone that is looking for classic good games that offer alot of depth. This one right here is a space adventure with so much possabilities, you wont forget, IF you can overlook the outdated graphics and animations.
