I finished Postal: Brain Damage, and while the bones - the movement, gunplay and feel are overall pretty good, visuals are stunning for that psuedo-Quake look with the 3D models having visible pixels on them - the "comedy" is very hit or miss and at times boring. The voice actors for both the new Dude and the OG Dude are great as always. I like some of the Duke Nukem-esque one liners, a personal favorite is "I am suddenly wanting some goulash." While others fall flat, not everyone can be a winner but all are fine, the core "comedy" is really boring at times. I know the Postal series is known for its "anti-PC" humor, but you can only get so far with "haha fart joke," "haha american stupid" or "haha sex" until you feel nothing to the humor. One that is eye rolling levels of annoying is a level where they introduce furries and do the same jokes that the internet was doing back in 2012, in a game that released a decade later. The plot does take place all in the Postal Dudes head and you can chalk it up to it being incoherent non-sense because of that, but I think there is something deeper about the game in this aspect. Brain Damage, and the Postal series in general has a problem with needed to cross the line every time. Shock value and raunchy humor can only go so far before you become a boring parody of yourself. If you can find this game on sale for 5 dollars like I did, it is worth picking up to kill a days time for a playthrough, but I do not think it is worth the $20 it is priced at.
