Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.86/day in the week to Aug 28 → 1.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Inspired by SWAT 4 and gritty police TV shows, Police Stories is a fresh take on top-down shooters with an emphasis on tactics that forces you to make split second decisions. Neutralize criminals, rescue civilians and defuse bombs in Single Player mode or Online Co-op. And remember - shooting first is not an option!
Unforgiving and tense, each mission tells a story of two police operatives - John Rimes and Rick Jones, filled with infiltrating gang hideouts, rescuing hostages, making arrests and other life-threatening situations.
The Surrender System allows you to apprehend the suspects without resorting to violence. Fire a warning shot near them or engage them in melee combat - those are just some of the ways you can make them submit.
Issue commands to your fellow cop Rick Jones. Make sure to use him wisely - and who knows, he might save your life in return.
Randomly placed criminals, hostages and evidence make every level run unique. The placement changes every time you restart, leading to new interesting situations and opportunities.
As a law enforcement officer, you will have access to end-of-the-line police equipment, such as under-the-door cameras, door blast charges and many others.
Various types of lawbreakers, from small petty criminals to well organised gangs and terrorists. Each type has not only unique weapons, but different behaviour and shooting skill.
Complex Tactical Gameplay: Try not to get spotted, don't waste bullets, regularly check your surroundings and make sure to take criminals down quietly.
All your actions are scored in real time. Playing aggressively won't get you a high enough result to start the next mission - so keep that in mind!
Co-op. Complete mission together for better scores and more fun!

I bought this game from the Tactical Top-Down bundle after having finished Intravenous II, which is quite possibly the best Top-Down shooter I've ever played. From the store, I expected a mix of IV2 and Ready or Not, and while it does have elements of both, it's so much worse at being a shooter than IV2 and so much worse at being a cop game than Ready or Not, that it just doesn't have much to offer. The guns and tactical equipment feel slow and unwieldy, and are incredibly inaccurate, with automatic weapons having laughably low fire rates and semi automatic weapons like your pistol not actually firing as fast as you can pull the trigger, not that you should use guns at all, since criminals can be subdued with a single punch when they'd otherwise take multiple shots to take down. The social/police elements are, quite frankly, baffling. I've seen criminals walk up to me without shooting, letting me take them down for free, and civilians running into a room full of armed gunmen. The points system is also very odd, sometimes doing things like penalizing the player with "Unauthorized use of force" for shooting a man running at them with a knife after having warned him to put it away, or not penalizing the player for flashbanging a room full of civilians or beating the ♥♥♥♥ out of people after they've handcuffed them. If you can look past the bad gunplay and the inconsistent social mechanics, Police Stories is "Okay", but it's just worse at what it does than its contemporaries, which is a shame, because I could see the game being a real gem if it was better than it currently is.

I love this game however molesting people is considered "unauthorized use of force" and deducts from your final score. It's a great game but this just drops the realism so much it's borderline unplayable.
Pretty mid game. It lacks a lot in variety. The maps are small and there's only ever 1 or 2 entrances. You only get points for grabbing evidence, defusing bombs or arresting/killing suspects. So there's not a lot of ways to get a good score. When you understand the game, all the levels play the same: never run, always use the taser/melee, rarely use items because they're useless and you don't get points for successfully using them. So it's pretty boring and very easy once you get the jest of it. The story is aight, a cookie-cutter cop story with a twist that's not even a twist cause you can see it from miles away. The end is a bit nonsensical too. The online coop experience was pretty mediocre as we got multiple disconnects in our very short playtime. Since it's only 4 bucks it's not that bad overall, but keep in mind the campaign can be finished in around 3-4 hours very easily. Also, don't even think about playing in local coop and/or with a controller. The aiming is downright impossible on controller and the local coop is horrendous without split screen. I'll still recommend it cause it's cheap and there's potential but it's just inherently too repetitive and restricted gameplay-wise. 5/10
Braindead partner AI Stupidly slow walk speed Interaction range is garbage Very buggy in general This game is cheeks. Unfortunately I'm forcing myself to 100% it Pistol description says it's accurate, no the ♥♥♥♥ it is not. Warning shot mechanic doesn't work, period. Unauthorized use of force when a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is running straight at you with a rifle? How does every game ♥♥♥♥ this up? The partner is worse than useless. He's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ liability. I tell him to cover a door while I'm clearing a room, and the suspect who comes out of said door can melee or shoot him, but not the other way around? It's like they made an achievement for leaving him at spawn because they ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ knew how terrible he is. Good god I just told him to throw a nade through a doorway and he rushed right in just to get himself stabbed without fighting back at all Jesus ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ christ same thing with the "AAR 15" - you cannot tell me this thing shoots accurately when the bullets are going a foot left and right at a range of 10.
The game is soaked in that nice top-down vibe, with pleasant music and a light, interesting story — but all of that fades hard once you run into the downsides. You’ll suffer from the janky shooting system, dumb NPC behavior, and your absolute brick-for-brains partner, not to mention the bugs. If you want an A+ rating, you’re supposed to kill absolutely no one — no civilians, no surrendering suspects — but the game happily sabotages you with your moron partner who will ruin every mission. In active mode this genius will sprint after a civilian straight into a crowd of enemies, get himself shot, and boom — there goes your score. He’ll also happily fire at enemies through civilians. Guess we’ll just call that collateral damage in the report. Even better — this tactical mastermind can get stuck in a corner and get executed by enemies that don’t even show up on your screen. Civilians can screw you over too, especially near the end of a mission, suddenly appearing next to an enemy and catching random bullets. And of course your partner runs all over the map chasing them, because they won’t stop from warning shots or hits — only from a gentle rifle butt to the face. Enemies are their own special category of pain. They open steel doors the moment you look away. Sometimes they die from one bullet, sometimes they tank three from an SMG like it’s nothing — very realistic, sure. Constant situation: a guy rushes you with a rifle, shotgun, or knife, you drop him, and get penalized for “excessive force.” Amazing design. I’m raiding a warehouse full of armed criminals — am I supposed to politely negotiate while he charges me with a gun? Even real police shoot in that situation. But hey, it’s a game. Doors can also glitch open repeatedly so enemies don’t render but still see you and start blasting — enjoy your tenth restart. I spent 3 hours on 4 missions just to get at least an A-. The gameplay is a punishment system where you lose points because the devs built things crooked. Right now this is my worst investment into having a good time. End result: ruined mood, burned pot of pasta, wasted time and money. Not recommended — even on sale. It’s just luck-based grind torture. P.S. Not even Elden Ring or Dark Souls pissed me off this much.
Do yourself a favor and buy Swat 4 instead, it's a BETTER game than whatever Police Stories tries to be. Some reviews on this game feel a bit delusional. It's a buggy game with a good concept, it sucks in co-op (I played it with my brother), it sucks in singleplayer, the randomness is good but the trial and error aspect is too buggy. Instead of fixing the issues the game has, they went off to create a sequel, what a shame.
