This is probably the best game in the pirate setting in 2D implementation. There are many 3D pirate games, but this is the first time I've seen pixel graphics. If I'm not mistaken, it was made by a single developer

YOU CAN POOP! Once a sailor always a sailor
I can't claim that this game is perfect, perhaps not even good, but seeing the game I played with my friends growing up getting updates makes me reminisce of better days. I can appreciate the developer coming back to this game, since it had so much potential and sadly fell short, playing through it this year though, I couldn't really get past the problems this game has, and probably will have forever. (Mainly the performance issues with large ships and crews (I had 5-10 fps on a high end PC in the endgame)) Now there is a new version of this game in the works as an online version, and whilst I hope it will be good, I doubt it will ever capture the hype for the early version of this game. If you are bored and it is on sale, you'd get some hours of fun out of it, don't expect much more than that.
A labor of love, once abandoned, is now a great and nearly finished game worth 10-40 USD. With weekly updates at the time of play, it will only get better, and the community is very positive. The new content is a blast so far, but afraid the devs might break it. Issues: The game is too easy outside of legendary mode. game was always like this but thankfully normal is fun despite the ease of play, and legendary is a hard Rouge like game. The character creator is still lame. Few beards and hairstyles that work together. No editing mid game. No POC options, you gotta be a movie style white man pirate. Historically, lots of black and brown pirates. Its awkward and jarring as there are POC characters they just exist on islands as tribal. IDK a bad touch in my opinion. Lots of poop. Pirates audibility ♥♥♥♥ and leave ♥♥♥♥ behind. it sucks for the ears, and looks gross. It functionally adds difficulty to the game so no real complaints.
dev unenabondoned game :(
trash
Absolute yikes
Theres a lot of poo in here.
Has its flaws but it is decent if you like somewhat grindy and repetitive gameplay. Controls are awkward god knows why. Game has been the same for years despite the updates (i finished it both in 2016 and a few days ago). It is maybe good for 5$ but i wouldn't recommend it otherwise.
