A very cute design but overall its quite awful. If you're into "hehe poopy poopy funny" comedy and ready for extremely tedious gameplay riddled with bugs this one's for you. The tedious grind. - beginning combat is generally quick and painless, mid-game it becomes a slog of attacking one enemy for about 5 minutes while they dodge 90% of attacks and stun your character repeatedly. Late-game even more tedious from overinflated health of everything. I made an entire Domino's order waiting for it to end. - everything mediocre is ridiculously expensive and everything decent is in a lootbox with a micro chance of dropping, have fun digging up 100 buried treasures for a few good items. - everything is buried in mini menus. To go fishing, ESC, Crew, Crew Member, their melee weapon, select fishing rod. Now you're in combat, ESC, Crew, Crew member, their melee weapon, select sword. Over, and over, and over, and over again for each NPC, holy bad GUI design. - in many combat instances you'll have to fight enemies on shorelines or ship edges where the enemies will stack together and repeatedly knock you off into the water. You'll do a long sinking animation then teleport back to your ship. You can get stuck doing this for a very long time or you can wait for a very long time for the enemies to scatter a bit, awful. - the map is massive and there are thousands of POI but once you level far enough to take on the captains you'll have to journey to each one hitting every pebble on the way, forced to sit through a long loading screen, encounter screen, loading screen, just trash. The bugs. - all menus have a sort of "lag" to them like they're running at a lower FPS than everything else. - combat pathing breaks for your sailors, they just stand there doing nothing while getting attacked. - treasure claim circle will be at a different elevation than the treasure itself, sometimes far beneath it - your character dodge stat doesn't actually do anything, leveling it makes no difference - "legendary abilities" can't be used, at all, by anyone - thrown daggers will remain on screen in next area, just floating in the air - all ship menu items don't actually do anything except for the cannon activation one - crew prioritize eating citrus even when they don't have scurvy wasting the supply - getting the burglary option screen when already in combat with that enemy - sometimes NPCs who say they will join you just don't, their AI breaks and they get left behind - no means to control animals on board your vessel, at all - sometimes a NPC has to walk across the whole ship to remove the poop and sometimes they can just do it anywhere inside the ship, same with fishing. - many of the achievements are bugged and have been for years - you can get a script prompt instead of what its meant to display softlocking you out of the interaction Neat concept, if it wasn't programmed by a 12 year-old

Did I miss it rewiving ? What happend, why are we back ? Anyway lets play some Pixel Piracy
NICE!
Last time i played this game was like 10 years ago. Back then despite not being a finished game it was fun. Now in 2024 it's even better although not much has changed. 10/10
Pixel Piracy surprises with a mix of roguelike, sandbox, and pirate adventure. The pixel art style looks simple at first, but quickly develops its own charm. The biggest strengths are the freedom in ship design, the crew progression—including the many equipment items—and the unpredictable events that make every play session unique. Despite some minor flaws, such as the occasional chaos during combat, the game offers a lot of fun and motivation. Clear recommendation: 9/10. Klare Empfehlung: 9/10.
bruh moment
He's back!
Very fun and mellow game. Great RPG aspects, fun generation of areas and maps. Love customizing my ship and leveling up my crew. Lots of gear, skills, and trades you cam teach your crew. A delightful game to sit back and relax with, an underrated gem. Dev came back and started releasing patches and I'm super happy this game is back!
