I actually like this game, but it seriously fatigued me the longer I played. My biggest problem is that the world is simply too big and the game often does a poor job telling you where to go. Objectives are sometimes only explained through dialogue, and afterward you can easily end up wandering around a huge map trying to figure out the correct path. One section had me searching for a way into a construction site, only to eventually discover that I had to travel all the way to another corner of the map, talk to an NPC, enter the sewers, and come up somewhere else just to continue. Moments like this happen too often and make progression unnecessarily confusing. The gameplay also starts becoming repetitive: enter a room, fight enemies, solve a puzzle, fight more enemies, do some platforming, and repeat. There is also too much backtracking and collectible hunting, like needing more and more heart pieces just for a single health upgrade. Platforming can become frustrating when failing sends you several screens back, and the upgrade system can be annoying because taking an upgrade puts you into debt and temporarily weakens things like your health or damage until you repay it. As the game continues, enemies and challenges keep piling up, and instead of feeling like I was making progress, I started feeling exhausted. I genuinely like game, but I think it would have been a much better experience with a smaller world, clearer objectives, less backtracking, and a more focused, linear structure.
Giving this game a positive review so more people can find out about it. It is a hidden gem with very little information available online, so if you get stuck, you're kind of screwed. That's not the game's fault, although there are some particularly frustrating sections, especially near the end, Loved the upgrade system, movement system is great, and bosses were all fair (hardest took me 3 tries). The metroidvania aspect is less about your upgrades unlocking new biomes, rather just new puzzles. The game is fairly linear, but with a ton of side content and overworld puzzles. 7.5/10
I've played this game because apparently some players think it's "similar to Mina the Hollower" unfortunately, I really didn't feel it beyond both games being top down. Pipistrello felt more like the sort of games you'd expect from Nintendo, which isn't really what I was after.
温馨提示:社区“指南”内有大佬做的汉化补丁 难度适中,游戏体验很流畅,一周目游玩的过程中全程都在“探索”愣是搞出了许多似是而非的skip,跳关狂喜 PS:主角的贴图未免也太大只
Very smooth and plastic-like taste.
Jogaço.
It's not bad or anything, but it didn't capture me like I expected. I don't know why. The overworld is a little too confusing, the combat is a little too stiff, and it generally just feels a little unfair throughout. I also don't see the GBA inspiration. It doesn't really look or sound like a GBA game.
