Reviews
Pioneers of Pangonia, brings back nostalgic The Settlers vibes, in a cozy settlement management sim formula. The games production chains are not particularly challenging or onerous to master, nor are the rock-paper-scissors style unit combat matchups – but if you are looking for a fairly relaxed game that evokes a “one more turn” kinds of feel as you continue to expand your settlement, this would be worth trying out.
My last Settlers game was 7, so thats my point of reference. So far Pagonia has been very enjoyable , I am around 4 or 5 missions into the campaign, and it really scratches that old Settlers itch. Highly recommended!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I bought the game back in Early Access and was looking forward to the full release so I could experience everything it had to offer. But here we go again... it’s that modern gaming plague. You think you’re buying a game to enjoy it with all its content, but no. To get the full experience, you have to buy additional DLCs, and probably more down the line. In the end, you realize that a spiritual successor to the classic 'The Settlers' from an independent studio will soon cost you 80 euros for the complete edition! I used to praise this game everywhere, but I had no idea it would carry over such an annoying mindset from Ubisoft. I thought you guys received development subsidies, judging by the German flag badge. Apparently, it wasn't enough.Well, once again, I feel cheated. I definitely want the complete game with all the DLCs, but not at full price. So I will wait another year until it goes on sale, though by now with a certain bitter aftertaste and a feeling of disappointment. I still enjoy the game, so I'll give it a thumbs up anyway. But I won't look at you with the same satisfaction for a job well done. A quick tip to finish: what about adding a building color customization feature, even if it's just for roofs? Everything is just too orange. Dark green, gray, or dark red roofs would be awesome so players can group buildings into categories. It would help them find what they need much faster among dozens of orange roofs.
TL;DR: Originally I saw this and had nostalgia hit of playing modernized version of The (very first) Settlers from the '90s on my Amiga. However, there is something missing. NOTE: Played on Linux Mint 22.2 and 22.3 on RTX3070. It works good in windowed mode. I really wanted to like this game. It starts nice but as the levels progressed, I realize that the story is tedious just like the gameplay. It feels off when I increase the speed and story starts to bombard me with events and slow down the progress. Something with icons is off as they feel weird their location and representation of what they do. Making things feel like a chore, especially with spike demands for housing while story demands of user to quickly reach some goal, but player is busy with some other requirements. MEnu with tech tree looks so confusing and pointless as game unlocks things for the player depending on when player constructs particular building thus making every run the same path for progression as mandatory. Technically it works great, it's just it doesn't make it fun to play.
The game just gets grindy / boring. You lack resources to make elite units, but there also isn't much point in doing so.
Hat nur bedingt mit Siedler zu tun. Macht auch irgendwie wenig Spaß... Mit Geister, Werwölfe etc.... Und hast dann nicht schon die richtigen Einheiten ausgebildet, kannst die Mission neu starten....
i dont know why people comment "feels like old good settlers". I think they only know settlers 6 and up. Horrible town menagment - all buildings looks a like, hard to remember where you put them, Horrible army menagment - need to put soldiers to a building first...
