Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.29/day in the week to Aug 10 → 5.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
From Obsidian, this game is a historical narrative-driven game focusing on character development, heavily stylized art, and choice-driven storytelling in early 16th century Bavaria. Players will play as Andreas Maler, a clever illustrator caught up in a series of murders in Tassing and Kiersau Abbey over the course of twenty five years. Players will be responsible for conducting their own investigation to decide the fate of the community, but each decision will have lasting consequences and inexorably draws Andreas closer to the center of an underlying conspiracy.
Experience 16th century Europe as the master artists of the time saw them. Art inspired by great illuminated manuscripts and the earliest printed books becomes a living, breathing world in Pentiment.
Choose different academic and social backgrounds and meet a colorful cast of characters as you discover the stories and secrets that lie within the small Bavarian town of Tassing and nearby Keirsau Abbey.
In an era of great religious and political change, each decision you make can have a profound impact on the community’s future. Find your own way through this turbulent time and see the consequences of your choices play out over generations.

在美术和历史考据上无疑是完美的,但是在故事节奏上还可以加强
This game is so engaging and so well-researched! I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystery, history nerds, feminist nerds, art nerds, religious nerds, occult nerds, and NeoPagan nerds. I really appreciate how much of women's perspectives are incorporated into the story, even within a patriarchal context. There is an attempt at including voices of people of color as well, despite the time and setting-- even a beautiful set of Biblical images depicting all the Biblical figures with dark skin. In fact, some of the most lovely and most lovingly animated segments of the game take place inside illuminated manuscripts like living story books. Another such segment even talked extensively about women's lack of agency in both literary sources and in the world... ending with an allusion to "The Mirror of Simple Souls," which is a theological work by Christian (woman) Mystic: Marguerite Porete, who was burned at the steak for her theology. I also loved how the Roma man, Vacslav, talked about Gnosticism. Queer players who want to see Queerness in a game: There is some! More than you would think in a game set in the 1500s Germany or Austria or whatever. There is at least one couple of gay men and at least one couple of gay women, although they are quite constrained in their ability to live openly, as one might expect in the time and setting... I won't spoil any of the twists, but there is significant push for the playable character to get married in a straight relationship. You can push back and carve out some choices for them, but it does make you live through the tension of carving that different path very intentionally over and over again, which would be accurate for the time-- but if it's a trigger for you, just know it will make you fight to assert your gayness while also not stumbling into extreme consequences. Another thing that the game does well is give the player a sense of the sheer scale of history, both in the sense that the Roman ruins are ancient even compared to the 1500s which to modern players is ancient... and also in the long-spanning consequences of the player's choices through the passage of time. I binged this game and it absolutely did not disappoint! Yes, you can pet the dogs and cats. Other major trigger warnings (some spoilers!!!) : ------------------------------------------------------------ rape, abortion, birth, revolt, child injury, child death, moral and ethical questions, guilt about things you thought were the right choices and resulted in painful outcomes, public execution (You DO get the choice to look away though), death, murder, autopsy, human sacrifice, burning at the steak, mention of Jewish persecution, mention of Roma persecution, mention of witch trials, the absolute SUCK of grief and depression ("melancholia"), Hedonist personality trait being an absolute turd to women, Christians disagreeing about Christian-ing, spelunking (caves, tight spaces), animal death, animal cruelty, men who do not take "no" for an answer, "the humors" (shudder), leeches mention, gun, hunting, that kind of man who likes to be cruel to people less powerful than him just because he can, parental abuse, domestic abuse, starvation, child starvation, books burning, blood.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 23: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Гениально.
Buen juego, graficas refrescantes y ricas en textura, los colores, la historia, el misterio, la duda de si realmente tomaste la desición correcta. Muy recomendado.
Absolutely wonderful and charming. The last Act feels a bit long before the climax, but the end definitely makes it worth it. If you have read the Name of the Rose, you will definitely enjoy this. It's been 2 weeks since I finished the game, and I am still thinking how incredible it was
C'est top !!!!
A great story! Love the art style and creativity of the game.
Pentiment is one of the most surprising games I have played in years. I went in expecting a walking simulator with some historical flavor and came out genuinely moved. This game understands the medieval world in a way that most books, documentaries and films simply do not. The relationship between the Catholic Church and ordinary people is not treated as a backdrop or a plot device. It is the soul of everything. You feel the weight of faith in every conversation, in the way characters greet each other, in how they process grief, justice and doubt. It is not preachy about it in either direction. It just shows you how deeply religion was woven into the fabric of daily life, and it does so with remarkable honesty. What genuinely got me was how the game portrays medieval peasants and craftsmen as full human beings. They gossip, they argue about theology, they drink too much at festivals, they fall in love, they hold grudges for decades. The illuminated manuscript art style sounds gimmicky on paper but in practice it pulls you into the world completely. Every page feels alive. The narrative is where Pentiment truly earns its place. The mystery at its core kept me second guessing myself for hours, and the way the story unfolds across different time periods gives the whole thing an emotional weight I was not prepared for. Some choices I made early in the game came back to haunt me in ways that felt genuinely earned rather than manufactured. I played the whole thing on Steam Deck and it was an absolutely perfect experience. The format fits the device like a glove. Lying on the couch reading through dialogue, exploring the monastery, piecing together the mystery felt exactly right. If you have any interest in history, in storytelling or in games that actually have something to say, do not sleep on this one. Highly recommended.
