Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.29/day in the week to Aug 10 → 5.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
From Obsidian, this game is a historical narrative-driven game focusing on character development, heavily stylized art, and choice-driven storytelling in early 16th century Bavaria. Players will play as Andreas Maler, a clever illustrator caught up in a series of murders in Tassing and Kiersau Abbey over the course of twenty five years. Players will be responsible for conducting their own investigation to decide the fate of the community, but each decision will have lasting consequences and inexorably draws Andreas closer to the center of an underlying conspiracy.
Experience 16th century Europe as the master artists of the time saw them. Art inspired by great illuminated manuscripts and the earliest printed books becomes a living, breathing world in Pentiment.
Choose different academic and social backgrounds and meet a colorful cast of characters as you discover the stories and secrets that lie within the small Bavarian town of Tassing and nearby Keirsau Abbey.
In an era of great religious and political change, each decision you make can have a profound impact on the community’s future. Find your own way through this turbulent time and see the consequences of your choices play out over generations.

Reviews
Medieval themed adventure game by Obsidian Entertainment taking place in 16th century Bavarian Alps, near Salzkammergut. Actually seemed pretty precise and believable from historical standpoint. Peasants, revolts, heretics, women's role in medieval society, introduction of typography... and just the right amount of murder mystery. Well made, loved the animated scriptorium illustration style and storytelling. Great soundtrack by Alkemie, featuring 'Ein Traum' by Lingua Ignota.
Incredible all around. Truly one of the best game I have ever played.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 23: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

10-10 This game is amazingggggg im so happy i tried it out!
Pentiment is a game that is so different from anything I've ever played before. I can't help but wonder how the development team managed to make this whole thing work. There is almost no gameplay, the music is barely present, and there is no voice acting. Only sound effects, text, and animations convey life in this world. And yet, despite all of that, it feels so alive, so meaningful, so powerful. The story it tells is such a slow burn, such a long breath. And "breath" is the keyword here, because almost everything this game does is breathe. It takes its time to such an extent that every meaningful event feels incredibly powerful and impactful. As a result, the player can't help but feel as though real historical events are unfolding before their eyes. I only have one negative thing to say about this game: there is a particular sound effect that I find annoying when certain characters speak. It sounds like two wooden blocks being tapped together. I really wish they had used the sound of a quill scratching on paper for all of the dialogue instead. Apart from that, I know that the game offers multiple options and entirely different sequences of events depending on your choices, but I don't feel compelled to explore those other routes. Not because the game is boring or anything of the sort, but because doing so would require a huge time investment. More importantly, I feel like the story I experienced—with all of its good and bad decisions—is my version of the game. Going back and changing those choices by exploring different routes would, in a way, diminish the value of the experience I had. I will warn you, though: if you don't like reading a lot or slow-burn mysteries, this game will probably bore you to death.
Pentiment is such a good, soulful experience, that I really doubt we'll ever see another project of this quality from Obsidian Entertainment. Especially not with the current Xbox Game Studios management. They'd very much prefer The Outer Worlds 3, or something else that digestible. I didn't expect this game to be this cool. And yet it is. Not knowing medieval and religion history doesn't ruin the experience. However, knowing the context makes Pentiment so much better, I guarantee. The story of Andreas Maler is definitely touching, and watching the changes (often influenced by your own actions) happening to one small European hamlet is satisfying, to say the least. The villagers feel so lively, so amazing in terms of both writing and visuals, that you'll have no problem learning who is who and remembering what happened to each and every one of them.
