These people don't know what they are doing. They have ruined what could have been the best MMORPG ever.
Why would anyone play this?
I am writing this knowing, not in trying to change the game for those who love it but to tell why I personally do not like the game. In 2025 static NPC should not be a thing, they should be at least working on something. The skills are not fun to look at and do not feel nice. They need better sound, animations and reactions from enemies. The movement needs major improvements, it is clunky, floaty and the animations are antiquated. There needs to be a map, even if there is no marker, something like outward. There needs to be a way to track your quests on screen instead of just the journal. (My ultimate preference is I like things showing up on the map but I know this game is meant to be more hardcore) The dialogue needs to be fully voiced and the dialogue boxes and options needs better ui. UI needs a lot of improvement. The world feels empty and void of any life, even with people and monsters. At least the beginning area. Towns feel static and dead as well. I do crave an old style, grind and explore MMO, where it's fun that creatures give enough exp to gain levels, however, I think I now realize that Guild Wars 2 map, questing and world events is also something needed. I may go back to this one day when everything is ironed out and it a complete game but as of right now, it is not fun and I do not want to force myself to play a game that I am not enjoying from the beginning.

My rig is a pretty good bit above the recommended settings, my fans and cooling aren't blocked...but this game turns my computer into a furnace QUICK. I went up 20 degrees at character creation. I've followed all the suggested fixes, disabled this, set that...nothing helps. I really want to play this game as I liked what I've played, but this is terrible. I hope they fix this so it doesn't cook computers that run significantly more advanced games without any issues.
Pantheon is still in EA but there is lots of fun to have and plenty of playtime for the $40 price tag at the moment. State of classes: The classes released all have their skills and abilities up to 20 pretty much fleshed out. After 30 obtaining new skills is sparse. This doesn't prevent you from leveling to 50, but the additional abilities and depth after 30 just are not there yet. The skills all work and for the most part it is a smooth experience to 30. Not all classes are equal but it is in a better state today than it was when EA launched. The best and most popular classes are those with the most utility not necessarily the biggest numbers. Solo exp: From 1-12 you can solo very easily, however knowing what to kill and where to find them is part of the difficulty. Playing additional characters after your first time this gets faster. With gear and knowledge one should expect to be able to go from 1-12 in a day. You can still continue to solo easily but after 18 soloing becomes difficult as your options are limited or crowded. You can farm "easy" elite group mobs at this stage, however you're now competing against 6 man groups who are also farming those same mobs. Some classes have zero issue soloing group mobs, others struggle. Duo/Group exp: this is where the game shines. The majority of mobs in the game are considered elite, or meant for groups. They give a lot more experience, coin, and loot. Duos who complement each other can really go far fast. As far as group play no one class is shunned but some are more preferable to others because of the utility they bring. Enchanters are probably the most preferred class at the moment due to utility and density of mobs in the world. They are able to CC multiple mobs at once, and have a big beefy temporary tank pet that can fully replace the need for a tank entirely. There are lots of good classes this one just shines in group play and deserved a mention. The world: Not finished. While there are areas meant to help bridge exp gaps... there is no way to traverse from A to B without access to teleport or invisibility. It would be nice if there was a way to access Eastern Plains and Silent Plains via npc transport. Not as a permanent fix but as a temporary solution during EA until other methods exist. (Edit: Update - Mounts and taming system coming in December 2025) Crafting: Very hard to gauge where it is going for endgame itemization. Currently you can craft every item possible in EA at lvl 24 (assuming you have the recipe and mats). You can easily boost your crafting by just crafting the same item over and over till you reach this point. There does not seem to be a limit on skill ups from low level recipes. There is no way to transfer items between your own character without the help of someone else, no shared bank or mail system. This is a huge flaw but most bypass it with a second account that acts as their bank / alt / box. You can only have 2 professions and cannot change them so having a second account is almost mandatory without a vibrant economy to gain access to some items. EDIT: Spring 2026 update addresses these concerns “The Player Market and Mail systems will be added to the game. Players will be able to post items for sale and browse items for sale by others. Players will also be able to transfer items to their friends and guildmates or other characters on their own accounts by using the Mail system.” TLDR: Worth the 40 bucks in its current state. If you like slower pace mmo's, you will get more than 100 hours out of it if you just try the available classes to 20. They are continuing to release content at a steady pace. The past 9 months have made a difference in the right direction and can't wait to see more.
this game is dead. Sorry guys, we all hoped and waited for this to turn into what we were wishing for. There's not even 1k players playing on the reg anymore. Most of everyone played til 30's and enjoyed what they could from this game. Not a whole lot of content for the 40's. Hell, when i was playing some of the classes still didn't even have their 30-40 spells implemented. Since EA release they've released druids, 2 dungeons, pvp, and focused on balancing. There's just not enough content or players to recommend this game. Especially after what like 10 years of development? Might come back and play if this game fully releases
Boy was I let down... this feels like a mobile game vibe coded by boomers. The website is well developed, trailers are polished. Buy the game, load it up, all servers are nearly dead. You get to the character creation menu, looks a lot like WoW, it's nice.. character customization is abysmal (at least for halflings) the UI is clunky and poor to navigate. Lots of text everywhere. You load into the game... major quality shift from the main menu. Lighting is... well, there is "lighting"? If you mean the worst shadows I have EVER seen in a game, let alone a $40 game in 2026. Retro graphics, low poly, etc - does not mean moronic lighting system - the shadows literally rotate with the camera and just. look. so. off. The 1 - count 'em, one - texture for the floor on the starting zone did not even correct, there is a giant seam right where you spawn. The settings menu is like 1/16th of the screen size, lol? The default UI is just completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥, enemy nameplate are overlapping with other UI elements. Everything just feels off - movement is clunky and weird, the dialogs and icons are so close but still so off. This game takes "retro" as an excuse for low quality. The creators have good intention have severely lack competence, the only saving grace to this project would be to outsource development. AVOID THIS AT ALL COST - Trailers curated to make the game looks enjoyable, it is a clunky, ugly, buggy, and unpolished.
I put nearly 1500 hours into this game and its a hard no. It will never go anywhere beyond Early Access. This team desperately needs a Project Manager and someone with real System Admin experience. They are a drift in minutia and have completely lost focus on what will get them to the finish line. The game requires grouping via chat LFG by design, which i like.. but at about 700 users at peak time there simply is not enough folks to do 6 man content consistently unless you go into it with a static group. I enjoyed it until ashbreathers came out and at that point lost all hope. The Dev team is not capable of creating new content. Meaning once they get ashbreathers out and Black Rose Keep, both of which were largely made before EA.. they will either have to launch and ask for subscriptions to fund completing what should have been done prior to EA.. or.. just fold.. which do you think will happen?
I know it may be odd not to recommend a game that I have 1717 hours in at the moment, but part of the reason I have this many hours into the game is because the toxic amount of "fluff" the game has. I'm not talking about how long it takes to level or the fact that you lose exp when you die. I am talking about loot/place holders. At the time of writing, I have locked down an entire low level camp for over 48 hours with my main. 12 hours a day, for three day, I have prevented any one that is level appropriate from killing this boss. out of 124 kills, I have seen the place holder 118 times, the actual boss, 6. Not only is the warmongers totem that he drops ultra rare, but he himself is ultra rare. Keep in mind that he only has a chance of spawning every 15 minutes. You might say: Well, just don't farm the item. The item is a flat 20% damage buff to all physical attacks for 15 minutes. It's a spammable clicky that doesn't even take up an equipment spot. To compete late game, every melee class has to have this item. This is just one item gated like this. Forcing higher level characters to sit for days on end and kill place holders over and over again to artificially fluff game time without having to put in actual effort developing content is not only harmful to the people forced to farm, but hurts the game play experience of any newbie coming in hoping to experience the content at level. I get that the developers want to keep some of the oldschool Everquest feel, but don't mistake every mechanic that Everquest had as a good mechanic when trying to recreate that feel. I don't know a single person who thinks that this is "fun" or rewarding for their time. I DO know people who refuse to try another physical class because they know they have to farm that warmongers totem again. I myself just realized that I spent my three day weekend farming an item that never dropped. I didn't even get exp for killing the mob because the most useful item in the game drops from a level 20. Even Korean Gacha games know to add a damn pity system to keep from ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ all over their player base. Edit: Add another 59 hours, no drop. 300+ kills. Still here, empty handed.
garbage game. tried to copy EQ but doesnt have the secret sauce
