It's a nice game, and I have enjoyed it for about 50 hours, until it released out of Early Access, since I'm on Steam Deck. The controls are misbehaving, like if you touch your right stick you'll lose the ability to aim, and can't even interact with the menu. The only way to play it with keyboard and mouse is to install a beta version that's months behind the main branch. I would like to give this a positive review, since it's a rather relaxed factory game, where you can sink hours in it with out feeling like it was a waste of time. But since the controls are acting up I'm leaning towards a negative review. Good thing that you can change your control settings on Steam Deck, so I'll just make the right stick work as a mouse and then it'll work for me. But the fact that just because I'm on Steam Deck I'm locked to playing with controller and not even given the option to play with keyboard and mouse is what tips the scale for me.
Great automation game. A little rough around the edges toward the end, especially since performance tanks once all systems are unlocked.

O jogo é bão, mais do mesmo só que sabor espacial, pra quem ta Open-To-Work qualquer coisa serve.
Very fun overall. however whenever you get rolling it becomes very tedious with the amount of ships that are required to be built and what goes into those. They essentially don't do much other than take up space. At least the last 6 hours or so have been trying to scale up and build the Level 12 ships which is making it a slog.
It may be for you, but it looked like so much of what I would want . . . I'm all onboard w/ this type of game, but for me the big thing was config. I had purchased it went to their discord & was going to refund it. I got reached out to & was like "Oh, we've got custom keybind support in upcoming version, set to beta . . . blah blah" So I did, and kept it, but no longer a version that permits customization as I need it, so achieves sitting on Zeros . . . not because I don't want to play -- I just can't stand WASD. I'm old & have had my keybinds decades before WASD was a convention. I don't plan to switch over & that's a deal breaker for me. Sadly, I got duped. Pretty sure WASD can be remapped, but the problem I'm having is that it worked well on the beta & I lost functionality & I'm just not wanting to go back to see if something that was rebroken got refixed. Maybe I'll see if they've taken care of it when I look again in Aug '27
The first part of the game is fine, but you start to feel it in the second half things start to fall apart. First you keeping hitting these intentional stalls where even when you have hit resource caps it still takes hours to produce enough resources to build the ships for the milestone. You start hitting the blueprint size cap and then the link length cap. Research goals are listed in weird order, sure I can research in any order within the milestone, but when gather uranium is at the top and carbon filters so you don't die from radiation is near the bottom it just feels unpolished. Then there is the whole ship thing. They give you the idea that you will control ships, but they really never materialize a purpose outside production goals. Even if you do get the idea to scout the map with them the UI is so bad and the ships die so quickly there is just no point. It makes so much sense to have a combat escort or scout the map or even just clear a minefield the hard way but none of that is there.
Outworld Station is an arcanoid factory sim. The story is simple: the system is completely screwed, and you need to get the hell away from the black hole. The Short Answer: Is It Worth Buying? If you just want something running in the background so you can watch a factory work, sure—but only pick it up on a sale for now. Playtime 3/10 It takes about 20 hours for absolutely everything if you just focus on completing quests instead of trying to optimize your setups. Story 3/10 The system is doomed, and your only goal is to escape the hole. Music 3/10 Features AI voice acting and some incredibly bizarre sound effects. Graphics 4/10 Typical stylized Unity engine look. Mechanics 5/10 The game features standard factory sim mechanics spread across several worlds with different resources. The building system feels strange and unusual at first, but after literally an hour, you can tell the developer has actually played other games in the genre; there are smart building alternatives and multi-choice options. It's not perfect everywhere, but it's acceptable. The game features multi-level building, but it's incredibly hard to visually read, so I just stuck to playing on a single level. The main ship movement mechanic is very cool—I actually wish we had something similar in Space Rangers 2, but no such luck. The factory grids are entirely cell-based. On the downside, managing shipping caravans is awful; you can't view them in a proper spreadsheet or table layout, meaning you have to manually click through every single one. Because of this, the docks are constantly getting clogged. The primary end-game mechanic is building useless ships, which feels very similar to resource sinks in Satisfactory. Enemies exist, and while they don't really stand out from one another, they don't really need to. There is also no proper statistics panel, or at least I just didn't like the way it was implemented. Personal Take I absolutely loved controlling the ship (except for a few annoying moments during construction) thanks to the non-target control scheme. What I didn't enjoy were the upgrades, as gathering resources for them feels a bit tedious. The blueprint system is somewhat clunky, and the way you manage furnaces and similar machinery is also pretty inconvenient. Overall Score: 65/100
More and more, I began to view this game as Satisfactory with an RTS perspective instead of FPS. It doesn't have quite the same story polish, but the mechanics are sound and the progression is satisfying. Lower aggression from mobs than Factorio, a few basic defenses will keep the meteors off your back. If that is enough to tickle your interest, buy now. It's worth it.
I don't write many reviews but I've become quite obsessed with this game. I've played just about every factory game of the last 10 years and when I first discovered them, they had alot of replay value for me, but nowadays I don't often feel motivated to replay games once they feel "finished". That said, while I haven't finished the campaign yet, I can certainly see myself replaying this game. Now that I can understand the mechanics better, I want to repeat the campaign so I can perfect my factory designs. I read the comments and it seems like alot of people are complaining about refueling ships. Personally I don't see the problem. This is a factory game, which means everything is a logistics problem, that includes refueling ships. Cloud miners offer an infinite source of fuel and provide an infinitely expandable power supply for very little investment. Fuel depots have 2 inputs, allowing for 600 fuel per minute, aswell as being able to put additional tanks for extra storage before the fuel depots. Refueling ships isn't a problem, people just need create an infrastructure that solves the problem.
