Reviews
The art style of this game is visually striking, and there are a few gameplay elements show promise. However, the action point (AP) system significantly detracts from the experience, creating frustration rather than enjoyment. The AP system feels unbalanced and overly punitive. You will be punished for overspending AP, while enemies can perform unlimited actions without similar restrictions. Moreover, the AP cost for basic actions, such as moving a character across the field, is excessively high. Moving often prevents attacking in the same turn, and attacking precludes movement unless you exhaust all your AP—which, ironically, also incurs a penalty. This restrictive design makes strategic planning feel like a pain in the arse. Additionally, the game’s power creep is overwhelming. Each new era introduces immensely more powerful enemies that exacerbate the flaws in the already clunky combat system. After roughly 15 hours of play, what could have been an engaging turn-based strategy game feels like a repetitive grind, draining and irritating. Overall, I don't recommend this game for those who are unfamiliar or new to turn-based game. This is my subjective opinion so you can try it yourself if you like.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

While I love the visuals and aesthetic of and my initial impression of the gameplay was very positive; Othercide is an annoyingly repetitive game that loses it's charm very quickly.
It is a fun turn-based rougelite with a lot of potential. The combat is engaging, the art is beautiful and the lore intriguing. The problem of the game originates in its lack of variety. The small map pool, the low number of classes, the too few cosmetic options which eventually render the game monotonous and all the daughters samey. Additionally the game is plagued with bugs. For example, enemy armor enchantment add twice as much armor as described by the tooltip, thus, eliminating many tactics that should be possible according to the tooltip.
This is a fun game! There's great battle mechanics! There's enough bugs to qualify as a bethesda title! It's an all around great game!
Cool visual style. Xcom style combat and level up skill set. Should have been an instant favorite. But being forced to reset several times as a game mechanic and only keeping a handful of fighters got very annoying. Sure there is an option to reset at later stages, but you sacrifice upgrades to do that. It eventually got super boring have to reset to Stage 1, probably 6 times. I just didn't have the stamina for it. If I had enough patience to keep playing through a reset game mechanic, I may reconsider. Skip if you think your patience is not your strong suit.
I like the gameplay itself. The fights, the characters, the world, the atmoshpere and the development tree, but the rouglike killed it for me. "You have to die and sacrifice to move forward" is a no-go. To start over and over again is boring. To play the same maps and fights over and over again is boring. To play the same fights on the same maps with more and more powerful enemies are infuriating and boring. To play the same fights against bosses what constantly makes themselves immortal is ridiculous. This game could be good if advancing in the storyline was more like an X-COM game and you had a chance against certain bosses. Fun for a few hours, but gets dull really quick.
