Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.29/day in the week to Aug 23 → 4.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
As the once-great Roman Empire falls into decadence and decay, you lead a small band of citizens in search of new lands hoping to build Nova Roma – a bastion for all that was once good in the Empire. Starting from a humble village, you must appease the gods with grand temples, sate your citizens’ many needs, and build a society that will be the envy of the world for millennia to come.

A wise city planner knows how to harness the world around them. Erect massive dams and aqueducts to control the flow of water as you reshape the land into artificial watersheds and reservoirs, paying close attention to how your actions impact soil fertility, or how a particularly rainy season might flood your city. Seek distant resource deposits and build infrastructure to transport raw materials and processed goods across massive stretches of untamed territory. Will you strike a delicate balance between the growing urban sprawl of your city and the risks of rapid expansion? Or will your hubris risk the wrath of the gods and nature itself?

Contend with a growing list of needs and desires as more people flock to your city – from pottery and wine to bread and games, it is your responsibility to keep the people happy and safe. Watch them grow into artisans, gladiators and thespians, and guide them through life as they spend their days toiling, and their nights enjoying the fruits of their labor.

As you consider matters of taxation and technological advancement, do not forget the powers that stand above you - build grand temples to the gods, avoiding their wrath and seeking their blessings to bolster your capabilities and ensure the continued prosperity of Nova Roma.
Featuring intricate water and weather simulations and the ever-present threat of divine intervention, Nova Roma explores the cultural, and social trials of the era. Take charge of your small Roman town and grow it into a bustling metropolis that will stand the test of time!

EARLY ACCESS: Highly addictive game with massive additional potential - can see a future sailing off to settle new lands etc. I would like to see new islands revealed on the same map (requiring a larger map of course) when you sail off into the fog, and have them defended by tribes etc. or even other rival settled peoples to conquer. Looking forward to new content, gods etc. I initially thought the game was quite expensive for the graphics etc but I now believe it is good value. The level of detail is incredible. The ability to zoom in and see what every individual is doing, e.g. picking up a loaf of bread and carrying it home, is awesome. Keep up the good work! Tweaks needed: Merchant pays way too much for fish. Should only ever be 1. Build two fishing huts and a dock. Profit. Chariot races should be time-restricted (one per season?) to avoid what is in effect unlimited influence purchase for gold Flooding and drought mechanics should be reworked to start at the edges/ends of rivers, not at the source. i.e. the flooding should be due to breaking banks where the river is on a flood plain, not from the top of the mountain!

Surprisingly fun
So far it's very fun game, I like the art style and the gameplay is solid. The only thing I think I'd like is more military sim such as building different units of troops and ships and defend your city better. Or even better an AI town. But that is future thinking right now it's really good, no issues at all.
I love this game. A great way to sink some hours into building up your city. The visuals are stunning. The early and mid stages of the game as genuinely so much fun. That said, it's a little too "cosy" at time and the late stage lacks a bit of impact - it feels like you're building towards something that doesn't arrive. There isn't a next "stage" for your empire as you would logically expect - expanding into new territories, political relations with other nations, or even just different military options. Once you've built a fully functional city with well-placed towers and defences, you can essentially just go forever and not worry. The late stage of the game could be more dynamic to keep it interesting. Also - the commute time and worker automation can be a bit frustrating. The game lacks some sort of "reassign all citizens to closest workplace" option. As you expand, this can be quite difficult to manage regardless of how you place or move buildings
