About

Night Slashers is a pulse-pounding, horror-themed beat 'em up game, in a nightmarish world filled with bloodthirsty creatures and unspeakable horrors. Prepare to step into the shoes of the unlikely heroes, as they battle hordes of supernatural foes and terrifying monsters.
In Night Slashers, you're not just fighting for survival: you're battling to save the world from a supernatural apocalypse. Join the fight, experience the adrenaline, and embrace the horror. Your darkest nightmares await…

Night Slashers, a classic arcade game originally developed by DATA EAST in 1993, still stands as one of the best titles in the beat 'em up genre to this day! Gameplay consists of seven distinct stages, each subdivided into multiple sections. You can advance by navigating from left to right within each stage, combating waves of enemies to progress.
Attempting to proceed further without eliminating foes halts the screen’s scroll until all the threats are dealt with. Upon reaching the end of each level, a climactic showdown with a formidable boss awaits. Achieve victory over the boss to advance.
Classic Beat 'Em Up Gameplay:Night Slashers: Remake stays true to its roots, offering classic side-scrolling beat 'em up action reminiscent of genre-defining games like Streets of Rage and TMNT: Shredder's Revenge. Players will battle through multiple levels, including one secret stage, each culminating in a showdown with a powerful boss.
Four Playable Characters: Choose from three unique characters from the classic version of the game, plus an additional character added in the remake!
Local Multiplayer for Up to Four Players: You don’t have to face the restless hordes of the undead alone—team up with up to four players in local multiplayer mode, where each player controls a different character with an extensive set of moves.
Advanced Combat Mechanics: Master a variety of combat options, including combos, jump attacks, grappling moves, and running strikes. Each character also has devastating special moves that can turn the tide of battle—at the cost of some of their own health.
Spectacular Screen-Clearing Attacks: When the situation gets dire, unleash a powerful screen-clearing attack that decimates all enemies in sight. These attacks come with a significant health cost, but the carnage they unleash is well worth the sacrifice.
Diverse and Horrifying Enemies: Face off against an army of the undead, including zombies, mutants, werewolves, and other nightmarish creatures. Each level is packed with terrifying foes and iconic horror-themed bosses like Dracula, mummies, golems, and Frankenstein's monster.
Night Slashers: Remake stands out with its grim, horror-infused world. The game features atmospheric music and cartoon-style gore that will delight fans of classic horror movies and games alike.
Additional Custom Modes: In the Remake version, you can set your own rules for the game beyond the classic difficulty levels. Time limits? Exploding corpses? It's all here. But are you brave (or crazy) enough to try it?

Vamos entender! Geração X 1965 a 1980 Geração Millennial 1981 a 1996 (Minha Geração) Geração Z 1997 a 2012 Geração Alpha 2013 a 2024!

👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑⠀⠀⠀

Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
 Follow Third group
and discover more reviews from me.
This is a remake of a 1993 Arcade game with an extra character. Get it on sale under $2 because a playthrough is very short at around 45-50 minutes. It's a rather basic but decent beat 'em up with an horror theme and much more blood and gore than usual. Enemies fall into chunks, dissolve, get decapited, but it's cartoony and fast so not shocking for modern audiences. It controlled well and it seemed like there was a a lot of button mashing (which I enjoyed) with no skill, but at harder difficulties that won't save you. Running after the carriage while fighting werewolves was original and fun. Levels felt short, even too short, most clocking in at under 5 minutes. At least they didn't overstay their welcome and the pace was fast. For the graphics, it was weird. It felt as if something was wrong and amateurish, but I didn't hate them. Points for giving specific animations for enemies walking down the screen instead of just the usual left and ride side profiles. If you restart a level you only get the number of lives you had when you first got there, so you're better off going to the main menu and selecting the level where you were. Coop in Remote Play Together worked fine although there were problems when one character lost all lives.
I mean it's an early 1990's B horror movie beat 'em up game... I wasn't expecting much. I was introduced to this game only a few years back, I didn't even know it existed, even in the emulation scene. The market for these types of games was over saturated in the later 80's and 90's so there are much better options like Final Fight, Knights of the Round, King of Dragons, Punisher, Altered Beast, Double Dragon... etc... so many to name. The original graphics are actually a lot better, the remake makes the art work look terrible. I dunno why they didn't include an option to turn it off... would have made for a better game. It's an A-typical beat 'em game... the move set is insanely limited, you do a 5 or 6 hit combo, you can jump kick. The gimmick is that you can ground pound certain low tier enemies in to the ground and "bury" them and then stomp on their heads. The entire game is weird and cringy. There's a secret right in the first level that literally leads no where. You fight a unique enemy that explodes when killed only in this specific section. It does absolutely nothing for the player other than sets them back right at the beginning of the game with no extra lives or boosts... why it even exists is a mystery. It's just one of those weird school yard rumors or something... or when you were playing with a random at the arcade to show off that you knew a secret. There's literally NO other secrets like this for the entire duration of the game and there's an achievement tied to this specific thing... Why it exists? I have no idea... just superfluous for the sake of it. Game play is basic, the players have massive hit boxes and can get grabbed and pummeled by multiple enemies at once so it's really weird. They put this grapple gimmick in because most of the basic enemies are zombies so I suppose the developers thought, "oh that'll be cool and immersive" yeah it's not, it's just obnoxious and cheap. This game would probably chew through your quarters back in the day because everything feels cheap. The first bonus stage is a train wreck... you have to kick 15 zombie heads for an achievement, it's almost impossible to do this while playing alone as the enemy placements are insane and there isn't enough time to get the job done. This game is one of those games that you play with 3 other people when you're all drunk and bored and have nothing better to do. You want to socialize but also want to mindlessly mash buttons while talking to break any awkward silences. The voice lines are abysmally cringe as well so that'll be a fun talking point. The achievements are also an insufferable grind... like charging up 250 attacks... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥... this literally takes nearly 30 minutes to perform. It takes about 5 full seconds to fully charge an attack, and it has to be executed to count, if you get hit, the charge time resets. There's also achievements for netting 1000 and 2500 kills and there's only around 250 enemies per play through... so yeah... do the math... unreal. There is a level select and a difficulty selection as well so that's nice. So if you want to just farm specific stages or beat the game with a character you hate, there is that QoL option for you. I got it on sale for $3 CAD... I would 100% recommend waiting for that sale again, if you feel the need to add it to your collection and you're a retro arcade gamer. There are much better alternatives like SoR4, Ninja Saviors, River City Girls 1 & 2, Shredder's Revenge, just about any Double Dragon game, Mother Russia Bleeds, Final Vendetta, Dawn of the Monsters...etc... there's a bunch more that are higher quality.
I can read your moves like a book!
It feels like the game was left unfinished. Looking at the in-game graphics, I thought it was a Flash game. The hit detection is extremely unfair; you get hit even while grappling, and you get hit even if you dodge up or down. The achievements are on the easier side, but they force you to play on high difficulty and require you to defeat 2,500 enemies. Most importantly, there is a bug where the controller sometimes freezes, or if you pause the game mid-game, none of the keys register and the cursors just moves up and down.
Genre
Ein Remake eines Klassischen Beat Ém Ups
Story

Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
 Follow third group
What a great game, it reminded me of the old times.
5/10.
