Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.14/day in the week to Sep 14 → 0.4/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I will preface this review by saying the only things ruining the game are the weird combat system and the lack of full voice acting. Combat is boring, dated, and void of strategy; it should've been standard turn based and I could enjoy it. But constantly being on the edge of dying and losing mana with RNG for recovery isn't fun. Catch monsters that start back at level 1 when you're fighting level 15's makes grinding necessary. Evolving also resets your levels, so you're perpetually starting over and getting destroyed. That being said, this game's story and atmosphere is so damn good. Had it been a movie I'd love it. It has the whimsical innocence I've never experienced in a game. It's also profoundly sad to start, which really invests you early. Every fantasy character is wild and varied, and the towns feel alive. The side quests are simple, yet not too child-like; it's very relaxing and calm. Until you get to combat... even on easy... Look up the combat before you buy to make sure you can stomach it. The story isn't enough to save the game for me, but it's fantastic despite that.
Made in collaboration with Ghibli studio, Ni no Kuni is a good beginner JRPG, and it was the first i ever played. You go on an adventure as Oliver, a young boy wishing to save his mother. The story is great, the art direction and style are influenced by that classic Studio Ghibli look - you know it when you see it. As for the gameplay itself - you level up, collect "familiars" (a bit like Pokemons, or creatures to do battle for you), solve problems and hunt monsters - nice and simple. The game does require a fair bit of grinding, and the last boss is absurd - three boss battles in a row! Stock up on curatives in general, make sure you don't run out of mana, and if this sounds exhausting, play the game on Easy and experience the story. Very recommended!
I'm disappointed with this game. Aside from the occasional Studio Ghibli cutscenes, pretty (but nothing more) graphics, and pleasant music, it has nothing to offer. All the limitations of the original Nintendo DS version are fully evident here. Boring and repetitive quests (run from point A to point B), a lack of variety in enemies, and primitive dialogues with NPCs. I recognize the publisher’s typical desire to cash in on the animation company’s big name. All in all, their marketing worked on me.
I'm gonna be honest: The concept of a Studio Ghibli RPG does not make up for the fact the not-action-but-also-not-turn-based combat is more of a pain than it is fun. The world also didn't really grab me.
The story is itself is so good and not gonna lie, I almost cry on first half of story. But the combat is the only downside. Even though I sneak attack on enemy, the enemy always attack first. What's the point of sneak attack then? You must progress the game for better equipments and items on store or you stuck on low level gears when grinding exp and gold.
the battle system is simply awful. the rest of the game is a recommend if you can deal with the jank
