Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 25 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Spiderweb Software's classic adventure of treachery and battle in ancient times has returned! Travel back to ancient Britannia for a tale of cunning foes, vicious battles, and a race to rediscover the lost secrets of magic.
Britannia is a land ravaged by war. The natives of this land, the savage Celts, have long been subjugated by the Roman invaders. At last, they have risen up in bloody rebellion. Battles rage across the land. Cities are sacked, the inhabitants massacred. And, lost in the chaos, in the small, forgotten valley of Shadowvale, a plan is being formed.
Soon, a band of barbarians will rediscover the lost secrets of magic. They will find a way to rid their lands of their oppressors forever. And you, as the Celtic warriors, will attempt to free your people.
Or you, as the Romans, will attempt to crush them. For the good of the Empire.

Nostalgia... I played this game thoroughly back in the 90s on early Windows systems, and was thrilled to find it still existed on Steam. The graphics are pretty ok on a new system and the story remains amazing. The RPG and text driven play style feel surprisingly 'modern'. It is nice to play a game where reading is a major way of developing through a story, having to talk to people to learn about the world. It is basically a historical novel with some visual elements. The game is pretty detailed: there is a lot to think about when creating a party, choosing skills, using strategy to defeat enemies, and the lore is huge. Ready for some diving in.

Excellent game.
I played this as a kid. Bought it because I probably didn't buy it when I was a kid. It's dated, for sure. But what do you expect for a game well over 20 years old at this point? It is a tactical RPG with surprisingly good combat for the time, and even today. Plus you get to kill goblins and that's always a good time.
Fantastic classic rpg. I love this game so much - i've literally been playing it for over 15 years. I come back to it two or three times a year!
Very cool game with an oldschool feel. Waiting for an HD version.
I wanted to play an old school RPG for a while. Saw the dev's GDC talk, noticed this on a sale for dirt cheap and got it. Now I regret not buying it at full price to support the dev. I don't really have a nostalgia towards these kind of games, I grew up on FPSes and RTSes but despite all of that, I love it. Sure the graphics are bad, the interface could be better, but despite all of that the game is very fun and the story is interesting. It's well worth your time and money.
I'm blown away by this game, very good writing and surprisingly accessible for an RPG from this era. Real Rome-heads out there do yourselves a favor and pick this one up.
This is a classic RPG with a nice twist; you can experience story from two different perspectives by choosing either the Romans or the Celts; with different bonuses depending on which side you choose, and different story endings possible. If you can't handle a lot of text reading, this game is not for you. If you like the old school classic RPG's like Baldur's Gate, then this game is a must play.
