Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 24: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Um ótimo jogo de corrida pra comprar quando estiver em promoção de 50R$ para baixo, não acho que vale mais de 100R$ em pleno 2026
I'm a long time NFS player. It's a guilty pleasure of mine. Bought Payback on a whim for 3€ in a recent sale and... It's fine, for sure. It's decent. I had some fun completing it. The car selection is frankly pretty interesting, the voice acting is mostly top notch (With Dominique Tipper from The Expanse playing the main antagonist for instance... As I said, fun), the story is ridiculous in a Fast and Furious-way and there are so many easter eggs to the broader NFS franchise (Most Wanted, Carbon, Prostreet and even Undercover ... among others) that you can't help but admire the dedication of the team for the franchise. That being said, in 2026, I can't recommend it to people wanting a racing game, even an arcade one if they are intimated by the "complexity" of driving models like Forza's. NFS Payback is simply too dated : it has all the stigmas of 2010s big-budget annual releases : - It has a big, mostly empty open world full of collectibles with only one type (the derelict cars) both useful and interesting to track down. - It has a progression system made with micro-transactions in mind, with lootboxes (that you can obtain for free) and gacha-style vehicle performance parts to upgrade your car, they are not that terrible once you get accustomed to it, but they definitely feel gimmicky. - The driving model is simplistic to the point of being counterintuitive. The handbrake will not make you drift, your main tool for that will be your regular brake, which takes some adaptation. It may be better for kids without driving experience, but anyone with a driving license will have to relearn this weird world's car physics. You also have 5 categories of car that mostly serve as excuses to force you to have several cars upgraded for different types of races, with only "Race" and "Offroad" being the main categories : "Drift" is just "Race" with your car behaving as if it's on ice, "Drag" is "Race" with no steering in exchange for slightly more acceleration and "Runner" ... is just "Race" but with an incentive to cosplay either The Transporter or Drive. - There is barely any challenge in the game, at least in normal, and the difficulty mostly end up being based on "stat-check" races with "high level" cars, and the "side bets" mechanic, rewarding you for completing objectives in races (such as ... not colliding with any cars over a 20 km race). The main interest of the game ends up in the "Runner" missions and story missions consisting of scripted chases, which benefit the most from the voice acting and the "playing a movie" effect. As it is, unless you're desperate for a Need for Speed game and you played all the other, I cannot recommend Payback. If you want a "modern" Need for Speed game, I'd advise getting Heat or Unbound which are more "refined" than Payback although they each have their own limitations ... If you want an open world racing game, any recent Forza Horizon will deliver a better experience, And lastly, if you're looking for a racing game with a story, NFS The Run arguably already did it better... And I cannot encourage you enough to give a chance to 2026's *Screamer*, which is as much an arcade racer as it is a visual novel.
hikaye olayı müthiş
Better story, characters, map and music than Heat and Unbound. Proper offroading and drag races unlike Heat and Unbound. And runs well on my potato too unlike the other two. Story so good Ferrari didn't let them license their cars to avoid associating them with "real life gambling" lmfao. The storyline and visuals are actually so cinematic. If we get another Need For Speed movie, it's GOT TO have Payback storyline as a major plot in it. SPEED CARDS SUCK THOUGH. And yea missing the engine swap feature too. Speedcross also lowkey quite boring and repititive.
Really enjoyed this game. I love gambling :p For 100%ing, the drifting took the longest. Huracán makes it pretty easy tho, even the dirt ones. Nice!
