Until they fix spawn , i wouldnt recommend. You just spawn from too far away and have to run every time a Marathon, what is this dark souls 1?

Mortal Shell 2 is a game I'm conflicted to recommend. I marked "No" because although I liked the shell system, weapons, and exploration throughout the first half of the game, by the second half I couldn't wait to put it down. None of the bosses are memorable, the final area isn't fun, and the last few bosses are horrid, especially the final boss. For me, those dislikes and wanting to be done before I rolled credits don't justify buying this game, especially at full price. As many reviews have said, the second half of the game feels half-baked and like you're playing a different game entirely. After I finished my playthrough, I wished I had picked it up on sale. Mortal Shell 2 has interesting elements, but it's overall execution is highly forgettable and for me does not put it anywhere near the level of Lies of P, Sekiro, or Elden Ring.
Out of the tutorial area and the difficulty spike is insane. Constant one shots, limited healing. I just don't enjoy it. Game needs a rebalance.
Couple issues makes this a "no" at it's current stage. Some of which are issues and wrinkles that existed in the beta and remain unchanged. -Camera system is abysmal when you're up against a wall or walking through waterfalls. You can't see your character anymore in either scenarios. Plenty of games address this and the tech exists; make an invisible bubble around the character and let them see through the walls if they're too close -Light attacks, for some reason, do more damage than heavy attack in certain scenarios. -Light attacks are also still too slow of a windup and you can't animation cancel to parry or dodge, so you're stuck committing into an attack against a mob of enemies who attack faster than you. -Too many enemies, doing too much damage, -Not enough heals, or opportunities to regain health (maybe let executions let you regain health by default if you're gonna be this stingy) -Not having enough checkpoints resulting in long walk-backs. -Without a shell, you die in 2 hits, and it takes a while to get your shell back, and this makes the above issues even more pressing. -There's no edge protection when dodging, so a narrow bridge fight with no rails become a fight between you, the camera swinging abruptly, and falling to your death. You just end up having to skip fights them rather than engage because of ALL these issues. This game is a few balance and QoL patches from being an easy recommendation, but at this stage, you'll probably be frustrated. I just can't be bothered anymore. I'll wait.
Run back simulator.
Now that is a souls done right with an interesting dark fantasy setting. Amazing game; it has high effort and creativity written all over it and i think the last time i played a souls so original was lies of p
