it's good... not too good, but i'm obsessed with taming creatures games. but rather than play this one it's better taking the one after, mhs3. or in future the one even after. even if the story is slightly better here, but both are kinda boring as lore. i like gameplay tho. mostly.
Ce petit jeux est vraiment tres chouette. les graphismes sont beau, l'histoire est sympa avec ses touches d'humour et de moment un peu dur et l'evolution est plaisante. Apres ne prenez pas ce jeux si vous attendez un hardcore pokemon like. une fois le systeme de gene capter si comme moi vous avez la folie de l'optimisation de gene de chaque monstre vous allez juste rouler sur le jeux XD. Je m'explique, le jeux introduit un moyen rapide et facile de remplacer un montre et de l'avoir a lv tres vite : plus le monstre est faible par rapport a vous plus l'xp qu'il gagne est multiplier. Il peux gagner 15 lv en un combat. C'est tres sympa mais du coup le grind de nouveau monstre est tres rapide. Le systeme de gene est excellent mais son defaut est que si vous chercher a optimiser vos monstre vous allez les transformer en terminator : deux raison 1: avoir les bon genes et en bonne version peut etre long donc bcp de combat et d'xp donc plus de lv que la zone si vous traquer chaque monstre 2: une fois les genes bien positionner la puissance du monstre est demultiplier : passer a 150% de deg elementaire + 125-130% de deg type d'attaque je vous laisser capter la claque que vous envoyer. Du coup le jeux met un coup de grace pour ecourter les combats avec les monstres trop faible. utile mais le farm d'xp devient plus rapide, limite on vous gave pas en xp XD. Apres c'est un bon systeme je ne le nie pas. mais quand vous ete try hard et hardcore au niveau de votre facon de jouer vous aller rouler sur le jeux. Prenez ce jeux si vous avez envie de jouer chill et rigoler un bon coup et si vous aimer l'optimisation. j'adore ce jeux et je m'eclate dessus mais je sais que je ne trouverais pas grand chose qui me resiste dessus. Une fois le systeme compris rien de difficile. Le grind vous ne le voyer pas si vous faite la collect de monstre et de gene. curieux de voir ce que donne le 3

Played it for a bit, then all of the sudden when launched it just shows a black window and never goes further. Tried every fix including deleting everything and reinstalling, verifying files ... so tired of all Monster Hunter games being garbage on PC. Would normally have recommended this title, as I loved it when I played it back on Switch, but obviously, I'd rather play any game on PC over Switch. I do not recommend buying this game on PC if it will refuse to work. So many others have this issue as well.

Do not recommend, I only beat this game because of sunk cost. The first 10-15 hours are okay because they're still introducing game mechanics and there's a novelty to catching monsters and exploring the world. It was about that point, with more than half the game left to go I was left with a weird feeling, none of the monsters in the game are difficult, as long as they don't one shot you with abilities you can't counter, then you should always be able to beat them. You also realize that as well as having no actual difficulty, the game has a story that is so basic that children's tales are more entertaining and detailed. You walk around the entire story just believing that the power of friendship will win the day, and then are saved at the end by one of the people in your group luckily carrying around the necessary macguffin item. Now Monster Hunter games aren't really known for their complex or deep storylines, but as a JRPG this story really misses the mark, Lastly the combat, this is the most redeeming quality of the game, it uses a rock, paper, scissors system that relies on remembering monsters weaknesses and patters and exploiting it often. While not a complicated system it can be engaging. Added onto the combat is the monsters that you catch and equip with active and passive abilities, and can also have exploration/ traversal abilities needed to access treasures on the map. The problem with all this, is that as stated at the beginning of the review, none of this is necessary, as long as you can play rock paper scissors, and swap out monsters when they become obviously outclassed for the new cool monsters, the game is easy. This game isn't atrocious, and I can see from the vast number of positive reviews that there are people who enjoy this for what it is, but if you're sitting there deciding on a game to buy, I would never touch this at full price, and if I had another game I thought could be better, buy that, this game is at best mediocre and just a time filler.
If You like turn based combat mixed with some flashy anime type animating, go for it when its on a decent sale. If Your getting it because its a monster hunter game so you think it will be similar, DONT, its not even close to the same type of game.
