I have included some wretched choices in the game. I am trusting the player to pick none of them.

A game for women with something really wrong with them. like really really wrong with them. other people could probably enjoy it too idk...
The first REAL afterschool special in over a generation. They’re calling them the Moulting Generation. Wasps really go in for sweet red gunk this time of year. I think it’s appropriate this game was released exactly now when we have maximum Hymenoptera / insect saturation. All you have to do is 1) go outside in the day and feel them hover around you 2) go outside at night and hear them insult you. Let’s go top shelf: this game has the same level of predatory hyperlexical intimidation as Disco Elysium. The writing feels dangerous in the same way, a heady mix of gnomic mythopoesis and the crass demands of lizard brain pulling at You, the player, actually the Plaything. Like your mind is acting like your own mind for once? There’s a lot of commitment to this lying in bed trying to get to sleep bit. There are these odd little nocto sounds, cracks and hums, that periodically interrupt the night. I feel like the parts where you stare blankly at the wall or sit there doing nothing at home are maybe the real mechanics of the game and the daytime stuff is just flavouring. Porpentine is probably the greatest diagnostic prose stylist since Ballard (and likewise seems to treat writing as a branch of neurology). Basically they both write as if trying to flirt via prescription pad. I have this theory that only the extremes of media matter… Like how the most psychotically experimental horror video pairs extremely well with a lot of 90s kids horror tv. I think this is because of the constraints imposed on one vs the absolute noncommercial freedom of the other both tend towards a certain ferocious derangement. The experimental film does it by excess. The kid show gets there by suppression. They each have distinctive feelings that separate them utterly from the mass of mediocre middleware, they each can hit that weird point of poetic knowhow. What’s really incredible is that this game somehow manages to embody both feelings at the same time. The artwork can only be described as invasive. I didn’t really realize there were these subformal conventions in visual novels, the characters always used to respect things like personal space. Here they are unearthly Large, Intrusive, Rabelaisian almost in their inability to read the room. Close-talkers. Lady Dirt? THE GODS ARE TOO CLOSE. Odd little mechanics like how the screen throbs and pulses along with your mouse movements. It’s trying to tell you something. Maybe it’s actually alive, like that Ranpo story about the pervert who hid in the chair to take the full daily weight of the sitter. It feels like this is not a game actually it is just a person inside there, peepholing you and suppressing hysterical laughter every time you make a “choice.” Tom Brown’s Schooldays for the Maggot Era. Rated M for Microfibre.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect or even if I would like this game, bought it without thinking (and a lil drunk) BUT, this is so much more than I thought it is The graphics are phantastic, very psychedelic at times, it takes you on a trip without taking drugs The scenes you are thrown in are really cool, the story telling and dialogues are exactly how I like my games - raw and without limitations, very detailed so you can imagine everything yourself, I really like that Story wise it's easy to tell: Earn 1k so you can get your family out of debt Earning the money isn't that easy, fortunately, so you have to hustle or let yourself degrade At the beginning of the game you can customize yourself a little and I think this will affect the game, but I'm not sure on that since I'm still on my first playthrough You also have a Hygiene and Mood bar that you have to watch but that's fairly easy Damn, this game is really fun, give it a try! 9,5/10
First thoughts after finishing the game: Cancer Prize, I want you. Okay, now to actually start the review. I stumbled across this game on twitter, some post screenshotting the description for the OCD trait, I laughed and sent it to my internet sister. The verdict was "how it feels". I didn't know much about the game at all, I hopped in basically blind and ready for anything. The sound effects made me and everyone I showed them to giggle - I showed the game to quite a few of my friends, I couldn't help it, I like having company - the music itself entranced me, captivated me, cradled me. I cried a few times, specifically to the song that plays when you're with Maiolica in the car. It felt like a dream, the softest ideal of motherly love raining down upon you. I never held an untainted version of it in my hands, but I cupped this fictional tapestry of noise tenderly, and wept. The writing was striking, humorous, biting. It cut with the sharpened edge and parried with the flat end of itself all the same. Even when I'd replay scenes, go back to try different avenues, I'd find myself rereading them like the words hadn't just trickled over my lips - I read everything aloud, even when I'm alone. It feels wrong not to, like I'm stealing away the soul from the sentences. The art grabbed me by my irises and held me down, pinned me to a chair I was happy to sit in, to feel my eyes go dry and sting. I didn't want to look away from the smooth palettes, the cute little stickers, the perfect interpretations of expressions I could make with my own visage, despite the lacking abilities of my facial muscles. Not nerve damage or a stroke, just... The inability to be sure I'm looking how a human should. When making conversation. Speaking of humans - the characters!! I can't give enough praise to them. The words I can type here wouldn't be able to convey properly the feelings trapped within the cockles of my heart. Locked within the cavities, greedily cloistering the sensations from my fingertips, eager to share. But I'd still like to try. Cancer Prize is a girl I could stumble into on the street, somewhere. Everything about this fictional girl could be mapped onto a nonfictional one and I wouldn't bat an eye. She's so real, I could trace the bumps of her pimples and run my thumb along the wires of her braces. Everything verisimilitudinously tactile. Her inner monologue captures a reality I struggle to conjure in myself, it speaks to a humanity I'm never sure I embody. Maiolica is an absolute darling, the platonic ideal of a perfect mother - at least, my perfect mother, the kind of parent I'd like to be if I ever bore a child. The relationship between her and Cancer couldn't have been better conveyed, the overflowing affection even in her darkest, most hateful moments driven by mania.
Felicity was... I don't even know how to begin. She reminds me so much of my own mother in so many ways, it's painful to think about - but even more painful to think of the other women she reminds me of. The way she manipulates Cancer, her disgusting infatuation, her revolting bribes. It made me sick to my stomach. It was beautiful, honestly. Looking at the screen to find yourself looking back at you, warped through the mirror of fantasy.
Agnel. I'm not even sure what to say, fully. I relate to Cancer a lot, she speaks to my core in so many ways - but I understand Cancer the way you'd understand a friend. I understand Agnel like I understand my reflection.
Sweet, at first, then you see the sickness. The twisted flesh, the marred skin, the corruption buried inside your body. Your arteries and veins, the wires in your circuits, you can't tell them apart. But deeper still than that hatred, that natural gag-reflex to shy away from your most amorphous self, is a desperate need to love what you are made of. The yearning for desolation, to dissolve into saltwater, yielding to the very human need to be adored - even if you are not human, not anymore, not after all the pain. All the abuse. There's other things I could say about Agnel, how I know that urge to be cruel despite how good it feels to be good, because cruelty forces things into existence - alertion, attention, reaction. I know the lack of self like the back of my hand, the inability to conceptualize who you are, the vacuous hole you ache to cease and you supplement with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I know suffocating obsession with a girl to the point you lose yourself in her, you want to eat her, to revel in her beauty and intellect and sweetness and barbed words. I know the saccharine decadence of a poisonous motherly relationship, I can taste the honey stuck to the cusps of my teeth.
There's more, hidden in white sand sugar, stars of different colours gleaming beneath the quartz. I'll find them in time, as I sleuth. The story was mind-altering. I felt ants crawling up my arms to snap at the base of my neck. I sensed centipedes slithering up into my mouth to clamber through the folds of my brain. The world clutched me in dirtied hands, my knees ached from prayer to the divine and baffling and beautiful ladies, the narratives of all the different endings and the routes taken to reach them had me perched like a bat at the edge of my ceiling.
Small anecdote of a thing I experienced just before penning this review: I had resolved to write this the moment I collected all endings, scrounged them up and pondered them like natural jewels - earthen, jagged, radiant. But then my other internet sister came to watch me play, and I thought to myself "I should experience all the scenes first, my thoughts would be incomplete in their absence". There wasn't much left to do, I'd already poured in quite a few hours, and there was just enough time to claw together a route that made my skin itch - The Business End. I ventured through, my other internet sister in tow, and after the ending I felt so bad I wanted to show her the Good End, the Girls End, the True End. I slinked through, picked some choices I hadn't before, and cobbled together a Week 12 with both the Agnel Heart Sticker and the I Love My Mom sticker. I was ready for it to go just the same as last time, I had already gotten the achievement at this point, and was ready to mourn the loss of my Maiolica. Then, I saw her! I nearly jumped out of my seat, I was slackjawed, utterly turn-tabled! I was so happy to see her, so awestruck by her confrontation with Felicity! At every moment I expected her to depart, to slink away through misfortune, or maybe kiss Cancer on the forehead and whisper that she had to leave and "do something"... But, no. She stayed. All to the end, Cancer, Agnel, and Maiolica. A sweet, lovely family. I sobbed for I'm not truly sure how long.
I want to wrap this review up with: thank YOU. Thank you for the spark that light the fire of this game. Thank you for feeding the embers, no matter if the inferno roared or the flames bowed so low they nearly collapsed in on themselves. Thank you for tending this blaze until it lit up in my eyes. Thank you for letting me even see this art, dancing on tinder and paper scraps and sleep-deprived dreams. Thank you for inspiring me. Thank you for relighting my dreams with your own rolled cylinder of gummy worms, Sternburg Export, and bat eggs - stuffed in a tube of Girl Money. Thank you for making Money for Girls: Amortized. Now I just need to find a place to put a "MEAT is GIRL. GIRL is MEAT." tattoo on me. I'm open to suggestions.
Also - despite the raw sex appeal of Agent, the cuteness of Secretary, and the absolute gem that is Kill Cancer - Cancel is best unlockable skin, argue with the wall and lose!
when i was in elementary school the teacher read us a Junie B. Jones book but stopped halfway through when her entire class hated her for reasons that were only sort of her fault. This game is sort of like that but forever and the whole world. you get to be lesbian and transgender if you want to be. highly recommended. bom. ding. ding ding ding.
if you're mentally ill - I'm begging you to play this game. Thoughtful, poignant, beautiful art, wonderful storytelling, queer love - what more can you ask for? So creepy and unsettling, had me on the edge of my seat with so many scenes. 10/10 game, have recommended to all of my friends, and will continue to do so
thsi game is sso pawesome...... i undrerstand evrything now...... philippines girlfailure yuri
Potentially one of the BEST visual novels I've ever played from a writing standpoint, definitely THE BEST horror game I've ever played (and I just played Eclipsium) If you're looking through reviews to decide whether or not to buy this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up freakshow of a story, do what I did and refresh the page until the game comes out- wait nvm it's already out do what I did and buy it impulsively at the first chance you get. I adore this game, I adore these characters, I was made uncomfortable at many a turn but it's an enjoyable experience nonetheless. TL;DR, this ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up dawg, but like in a good way you girl, we girl, money girl, money for girl :)
I saw a lot of reviews explicitly labeling this game as being best for someone who is either queer, lesbian, or a "woman with something wrong with them" I won't deny that those groups may be more likely to find it relatable, but I disagree with that being the headline of this game, especially if you are looking to make a purchase. I fit into none of those groups, and I can tell you the game is fantastic so far. (Only one run, and it was a bad end) You aren't directly fed thoughts and feelings, you are simply exposed to the world through the lense of this one teenage girl. I have been thoroughly confused by all of my choice options, let alone how they ultimately affected the story. But I know that they did affect things, and I feel thoroughly intrigued in equal measure. There are varying art styles, button designs, little symbols that pass over your screen.. all of which hint to you that something has been affected, and they give just enough of a guidepost to make it satisfying to try and figure out what's going on. That's all to say, I recommend this game for anyone. A wonderful medley of confusion, horror, and mystery.. with plenty of humor and a satisfying conclusion.
the girls dont have money but they do have love and joy..... such is life.... i really loved this game. lets all be gross girl perverts in the sevenever forever....
