It started in your foot. Now it’s in your head. All that remains is the command: GO UP. Meet strange neighbors. Make bad trades. Every ascent teaches you what you should have done differently.

About
The only thought left is: GO UP.
The building has thirty floors. Your body has problems - hunger, thirst, exhaustion. The infection doesn’t care. It only wants altitude.
Your body is in shambles... but the foot keeps climbing.
The building is not haunted. The people in it are not monsters - and they want things. Junk. Food. Favors. Someone to do something mildly humiliating to their neighbor.
A few of them know things they shouldn't. And maybe what they know has something in common.
You're the only one collecting the pieces.
The building is the same every time you climb it. The neighbors are the same. The trades are the same. The vending machine on the ground floor has the same stock.
What changes is what you know.
Every run, you learn something. A shortcut. A better trade. An item you thought was useless until it saved your life. Slowly, the building starts to make sense.
You’ll know what to do next time.
But your foot isn’t waiting.
MOLDRISE features a full-length original soundtrack, composed by Mike Klubnika, creator of Buckshot Roulette, s.p.l.i.t., and Machine Party.
First-person survival horror. Retro aesthetics. A thirty-floor apartment building with no empty floors and no happy endings.

Absolutely diabolical. The game oozes with tension that fills your every pore. No one gives a sh#t about you. It's almost a two steps forward and one step back situation, just like in real life. You must be deliberate with how much you walk, and what you chose to spend your resources on, lest you turn into a human-sized fungus.
This is a wild ride. Moldrise wears its inspirations on its sleeve. No, I'm not a Human and Look Outside spring to mind. If you're familiar with either of those games, buy Moldrise and thank me later. The fear of the unknown is strong with this one. There's so many questions and while you may be able to piece some of the answers together quickly, there's enough to break the mental schema of what you'd expect and fill it with some surprises. What I enjoyed the most was the exploration, learning new info, and expediting the process of completion. Gameplay loop is simple yet challenging - figure out wtf is going on with your foot while not starving or succumbing to dehydration. There are enough side stories and additional details to warrant multiple playthroughs. However, if you're just about completion the game can be wrapped up in a couple of hours. While I understand some trepidation with dropping $11.99 ($10.79 intro sale) on a couple of hours of gameplay this is well worth the price of admission. FAFO for yourself, you'll be happy that you did. UP! UP! UP!

Actually insane!!!! if you played the Demo you know what the core idea was; Its gotten fleshed out Immensely (no pun intended) The Constant grind of trying to figure it all out is addictive asf, and the way the game makes it fun to restart should honestly be studied!!! 10/10 game already and I've barely played it lmfao
If you like the games where you go back and forth getting things from one dude and giving it to another dude, you'll really, really like this game. If you like having fun, this probably isn't for you.
Excellent little body horror game. Story, pacing, sounds, writing, all well done. Only minor issue is in a game where the whole thing is how bad your foot gets, is, why aren't you feet visible? I assume it's a design choice and not a technical limitation. But aside from that, I really enjoyed it. I'll likely 100% it soon to see everything.
I like the art style and dialogue, but I can't save? No Checkpoints? I shouldn't be speedrunning in a horror game in order to beat it. I've died 3 times and I can't be bothered playing this again if my progress is going to get reset, and I have to do anything again. It's not like a rouge-like where you progress because you died. A souls-like even as checkpoints where you learn from you past death. Having to reset and doing all the tiny little task to complete the game was annoying to me. Overall, a light 5/10
Another extremely good entry into what I'd call the "poverty-grunge" genre. If you like the horror elements of Obenseuer and want a game that's all-in on that, you've probably already finished Moldrise by the time you're reading this review. Amazing atmosphere, a handful of impactful, tonally-appropriate jokes, and some very effective horror in everything from jumpscares to tension to body horror to panic moments. If you've never engaged with this genre before, this is a perfect distillation of its themes, tone, and the sheer quality that can be found in settings like this, and if you're a fan already, this is an absolute recommend.
Great game, but "short". If you want you can finish it with about 15 minutes by just watching spoilers... This is not a game you want to watch gameplay for first, and play it yourself second. To actually do all the stories etc I've spend about 4 hours and you could probably find another hour here or there (i've had some instances that I didn't figure out what triggered it). The game looks AMAZING, very creepy atmos, and great audio as well. The game is essentially a walking simulator + fetch quest + survival management system There are no real jump scares, or actions you have to take, other than the story You'll probably need three runs to finish it, just because there are "shortcuts" you'll "unlock" that will save time (and money/resources) The ending is a bit open ended, but i'm pretty sure i've missed a piece of that story Overall it's a very dope game, short but memorable. Up there with 'Mouthwashing' and 'No, I'm not a Human'
this absolutely rules, remembering various important bits of info between runs until you let the mould eat yourself and the walls
