This game is seriously amazing. You got lots of guns, cool ass character, stuffy and lots of boobies.
I have minor complaints about the game, but overall it's just a fun shooter with interesting environments.
very good game. lets you play the levels in any order you like and new weapons after nearly every boss lets you play how you want. there are 4 endings based on the people you talk to and the choices you make.

Overall, very solid experience. Compared to some other recent titles, the FPS elements (shooting, gunplay, etc) felt a bit lacking, as it seemed like the game just wanted you to find the guns that best fit your playstyle and stick with them, even as it threw a dozen plus firearms at you that all did similar things but a bit different. Gun selling feels like a big no-no at first, until you realize that there's no way to really get enough strange ore to upgrade all weapons, again reinforcing the idea of "pick what fits best." That being said, the Trench Gun is an early winner, and upgraded feels like one of the best guns in the game in damage-to-bullet ratio. In addition, the grenade launcher from the end of level 1 is extremely potent and solved many large groups of enemies- easily surpassing the other two "red ammo" weapons available. Following that, I used the Tarot Cards for a significant portion of the game, and those two made the bulk of my weaponry selections, despite the number of guns available. Encounter design also felt interesting, but I was able to facetank most attacks outside of the first couple bosses. Maybe the armor upgrades just make a significant enough upgrade that I felt their impact more than anything else, but you get so many heals and can deal so much damage so quickly with a full set of resources that it took some of the oomph out of some of the later bosses. Maybe some boss invulnerability or more complex patterns would have helped that feeling, or maybe going back through on a new run and not filling all my resources at every chance to would force me to learn the bosses better. In addition, the softer Dark Souls bonfires were a welcome and interesting change. I enjoyed being able to save as I pleased, especially with the fact that they are hard saves, and enemies staying dead made it feel like I was making tangible progress. While the story is fairly light, all the quests per-area are interesting in their own right, and make for an enjoyable bit of downtime through the levels. Particular stand-out characters include the werewolf woman, the robot that you build, the alcoholic princess in the festival, and the three main vendors. I've saved the best for last: The FREAKS. All of the enemies, npcs, and general creatures were wonderfully handcrafted by the mind of a true psychopath. I mean that in the absolute best way, all of the different shapes and sizes of monsters, the weird amalgamate creatures there, and how each of them moved and attacked made every new monster discovery and zone entry such a delight. The art direction as a whole is incredible, with every zone and level feeling distinct and unique from each other, even when drawing from the same palette. If nothing else, this game is worth it to peruse and enjoy monster designs from a group of devs that truly understand the craft that goes into a good Freak. I got a solid 9-10 hours out of the game with plenty of self-induced backtracking. I think it is worth it for myself, but I also can see the value of waiting until it's even $15 on a sale. Lower than that feels like it would undersell some of the quality, but the more people picking up the game the better.
Was a bit disappointed when I started, the game felt alot jankier than I had imagined but eventually got used to it and had a great time. The first two worlds weren't too interesting (for me) but the 3rd and 4th really reeled me back in.
A beautiful and strange game with such a haunting soundtrack.
Amazing game that doesn't waste your time and gives you a strong experience from the start all the way to the end. The music is great, the weapons are creative, the characters are charming, the combat is fluid, the levels are well-built... What else can you ask for?

Very good. Art direction carries this game with everything else keeping up with that. If you want a decent-length souls-like (kinda. it's a shooter at heart) with gorgeous art, environments, and characters, this is it. Juli, The Dollmaker, the red upgrade being; all incredible, and they reminded me of Made in Abyss in the best way possible: cute and unsettling in the same breath. There are too many weapons, but the in-game sacrifice system does a good job of letting you cut through the bloat and settle into a loadout that feels yours. Boss fights could've bitten a little harder - found myself finishing first or second attempt, but every single one is visually striking and fits its setting perfectly. And the biggest compliment I can give: I actually finished it. Bad habit of forgetting to do so.
