I enjoyed this game quite a bit. Sharp and concise writing. Strong characters. I laughed often and deeply. Good pace, good length. Great variety of puzzles with intuitive UI. Good graphics with some particularly excellent animation. Mercifully, no traditional Jane Jensen hair-pullingly-frustrating end puzzle. I truly love this game. I will play it again to make different choices and earn the remaining achievements.
It's a decent point click advenutre game albeit a bit clunky and has limitations. It has some interesting puzzles but it has some midly boring ones too where you have to match things. If you like a reasonably interesting story then pick this up at a discount.
Very nice adventure game with a point system for advancing the story which reminded me of the old Gabriel Knight games (which we also enjoyed). Great voice acting and interesting characters with an unusual premise and a rather unique game mechanic where you evaluate current and historical characters. If you liked the previous Jane Jensen games, you are sure to like this one too. Recommended 9/10.
Recomendada.
As a long-time Gabriel Knight fan I was very interested in Pinkerton Road's output. It still pains me a bit that I couldn't support them back in the day. Having heard several negative reviews of the game I was a tad worried if it would be worth my time. But I find that even at 11 years old, Moebius has the hallmark quality storytelling I came to love Jane Jensen's work for. Extensive research, suspenseful writing, in-depth character work, a vague border between real life and the game's story are all present. Plenty of research available at your fingers for the bonus Wikipedia effect as well. The game backdrops are stunning - of course helped by the storyline taking you to some very good-looking locations. The animation of the characters however leaves room for improvement. Exaggerated shoulder/hip movements and rolling eyes make the conversations more listen-worthy than look-worthy. Fortunately the voice acting is quite enjoyable. Also the music of the game brings a suspenseful atmosphere that will be familiar to Gabriel Knight-fans. Though at some points it's a bit too suspenseful. Like when you're out in Cairo just plain looking for information and it sounds like there's a murder taking place. The controls are point-and-click with a slick black/blue interface popping up. A hint option allows you to see what there is to do on a screen. On the two occasions where you are navigating a location that is larger than the screen, the system shows its limitations. Scrolling between the sides takes a lot of clicks. The puzzles are fine and logical (save all the instances where you need to look for an alternative light source while you are never without your phone.). A lot of the game puzzles are analyzing people, these are optional but add to the colour of the game. Several sections have multiple ways of solving them, which is another bonus and point giving replay value. There is a tendency to negatiely compare this output to the unmatched Gabriel Knight series, but this feels unfair for an indie game. Moebius holds up quite nicely as a highly enjoyable output. If after many years a sequel would be offered, I would definitely get it,
The game has aged well. No problems while playing it with the steam deck. The animations of the characters are horrible but the story is well done, as the voice acting that is amazing, and it really hoocked me since the beggining. There are two puzzles that toasted my brain cell but the way u proceed to the story is easy. Really enjoyed.
