Love it! There is just something smooth about the gameplay
I'm enjoying this game as a distraction until Civ 7, and it's doing the job well. I'm in age 5 and the game seems to be well-paced and detailed. As a comparison, the resources are more complicated than Civ and (thankfully) less complicated than Ara. Do your research to make sure this game fits your niche. The graphics are Civ 4 level, but the gameplay is deeper.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Good: - experience is complex but streamlined - mechanics are working really well together and I feel like I have to make the right trade-offs when playing against harder AI - diplomacy includes religion in a religious age, and ideology in a later age. Also there is the diplomatic stat of hostilities which I really like - you are not at war, but are allowed to attack units outside of their territory. - there are goods like cotton which can be made into other goods like clothing which are more valuable this is really nice but not too complex - worker placement is actually fun and interesting - events are a really nice mechanic that shakes up games where you are just gardening away not minding other players - ages mechanic is top notch. The only problem I have with it is that after a special age there has to follow a normal age. Can be fixed with a mod though - modding is a thing - options are interesting and can include harder chaos events - if the ludicrious nation builder upsets you (all you can do is select a name, a flag, lists for city names and one special ability) that is only because your culture will develop a character through the ages you pick, the national spirits you pick the government you chose and the trade-offs you make in how to develop. Neutral: - diplomacy is lacking personality, but I never liked the one person representing states like in civilization Bad: - late-game performance I whole-heartedly recommend this game (including both dlc that are available at the moment) for everyone who likes 4x games. The ages mechanic alone is worth it. No wonder CIV VII picks up on it.
Me queria comprar el Civilization 7 pero esta carisimo y ya juegue demasio los otros. Asi que compre este. Me engancho. Recomendado. Hay muchas cosas que aun no se hacer, es mi primera partida. Me saco de mis ganas de comprarme el Civ 7. Porque es un poco de lo mismo. Pero diferente. Y eso lo hace fresco. Como el Civ 7.
Free play weekend. The Game is good but lacks in some areas. I like the ages system and the city system is great. I enjoy how there are plenty of buildings and customization and allows for specialization. Barbarians are crazy. I don't know how they make so many of themselves but if they were smart enough to group together I wouldn't stand a chance. The fact they start with walls is also frustrating. The AI and the Diplomacy is awful. I've had war declared on me because I couldn't find them to give an envoy and armies marched between my cities over open hostilities. The game needs to definitely improve in those areas but the rest is fine.
Obviously nothing special in terms of the visuals but I believe the innovations with specializing your economy based on resources and the ages is enough to justify the price. Hoping as they add to it over the years it will be on par with Civ but they have a ways to go.
Nach den Updates ist auf jeden Fall Wert, es zu spielen
It hits that same Civ loop of one more turn, and now with multiplayer I'm going to spend even more time on it! It has the old doom stack like old Civ, but adds a few quirks that I won't spoil that make it more interesting!
The game today is an awesome competitor to Civilization. Will it remain so? We will see. For now, the expansions are a great addition to an already fun game. I see a lot of potential and hope for even better improvement to an already solid foundation. The game, as usual with civ-style games, is most fun at the beginning. This part of the game is expanding significantly in my opinion on what makes civ games great. I really love that. The only disappointment is that by the end of the game it falls into the same trap of uninteresting and broken gameplay where you are either heavily winning against all your opponents or you were defeated a long time ago. These later parts of the game still need some polish, unfortunately. I hoped they would come with something revolutionary for the genre in the later parts of the game; however, unfortunately, they did not. I see a very solid foundation they can build on, but I am not sure the modern ages in the game will change significantly if at all. Is it still worth playing today? Definitely yes. I had a lot of fun through my playthroughs. It fell short by the end, as I already mentioned in the general review, but the journey was still worth it.
Looks interesting as a turn based 4x game. Might become even better with future dlc's
