I'm definitely enjoying this game, it's great. But there's 2 big things I feel need be improved ASAP. 1. There needs to be a better tutorial. Some of the bad reviews are just people that don't know certain features exist, like the border expansion view button or the giant red button for destroying regions that people somehow miss. Other times people don't know how to get a production line going, so people that haven't encountered this concept, like OpenTTD or Transport Fever players, may find it difficult to understand at first. Therefore, I think this game and any new players will greatly benefit from a better tutorial. 2. AI diplomacy & development sucks. - The AI has 2 reasons they usually declare war, ever: having a lower power level, and having close borders. And guess what, they like to forward settle, and get mad at you for being too close. They have the ability to make massive armies without penalty, because they have endless resources at higher difficulties. I find war crimes to be a reasonable response to their diplomatic shenanigans. - Another thing is that they fall behind at around mid-game on master difficulty, and presumably earlier on lower difficulties. Grandmaster AI doesn't seem to have this issue in my experience, because the AI is straight up cheating. Both of these issues combined make singleplayer less fun than I think it could be. I doubt the average newbie has friends for this game, so making singleplayer better should definitely up the positive reviews and hopefully exposure. I can't be bothered to proofread this ♥♥♥♥, so I'm posting it as-is.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

one of the single best 4x strategy games I've ever played! don't listen to the haters the game is sick you can summon cthulu to the human world, you can bring about nuclear annihilation to all of humanity, or just get really really into building pyramids. So much fun so worth it if you play with yourself or with others.
Played it at launch but quickly shelved it due to multiple issues. As I am currently awaiting the release of Civ7 I decided to give it another shot and can say it is actually a really good game by now. The AI has improved, the UI/UX are much more user-friendly and being able to click away the still dreadful combat animations is also nice. Won the first game in Age of Harmony (religion victory) and the second one in Age of Conquest (military victory). Half the ages in those playthroughs were different which is a nice change from the highly calculatable progression in Civ6. Now I am playing grandmaster and most ages are selected by the AI which makes it even less predictable. The downside is that diplomacy is almost useless on hardest difficulty as the AI will see you as a target for most of the game until you are much stronger than them (at which point you couldn't care less about diplo). There are a lot of great ideas at work here and no doubt the guys at Firaxis have taken note and you will see a few of these innovations be applied in Civ7. It may not be as polished as other 4X but definitely worth a try imho. Depending on your familiarity with the genre it will certainly take you a few games to figure out how the mechanics work. Don't be afraid to lose a game or two initially as this will most likely happen. For example there are stages in the game that will spawn a bunch of rebels in your homeland. If you don't have any units at home this will likely fubar that run and in the next ones you will make sure to keep units nearby at all times. Tbh, I think this game is severly underrated and underplayed with only 200-300 players atm. I can wholeheartedly recommend it. Disclaimer: I've played Civ since its first iteration in the 90s and almost all other 4X since. Apart from Civ, I am currently playing Humankind, Old World, Stellaris, Terra Invicta and Millenia.
fun game if you like games with a lot of different options for a build without ever finishing a single run :D
gud
An actually unique and fun take on the civ style genre and honestly worth all the money and more
