Not really... exciting to play, for either casual or experienced 4X players. Seems to have tried too hard to appeal to both crowds and suffered from it
Millennia has DLC already but it feels like a game stuck in Early Access. The AI is bad and there's no map editor. You can create your own Civilizations but you can't create your own town or city list. So even if I wanted to create a Fictional Nation I would have to Select the only ones it comes with. This game though has alot of potential so I'll change the review once the game gets better( ALOT BETTER). But the Age system is really cool and I love the Age of Aether. :(

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The dated visuals and excessive information launched at a new player make it too much for me to continue. I can't see myself continuing to play this as I can Civ 5/6.
如果多一点投资,多一点时间打磨(说实话我高度怀疑它这么早被推出来纯是P社为了缓解监狱建筑师2跳票→无限延期的炎上趋势的),能成为有能力和civ系列掰手腕的作品。可惜。
Just another reason I don't trust Paradox to make GOOD strategy games. Only complex ones for reasons beyond understanding.
i played it a lot in the beginning, stopped after a while coz while i can win and finish a game i never get to see it again. like in civilization we have hall of fame which shows our past games with different civs with some score attached. i wish millennia also did that. its kinda disappointing finishing a game and never anything related to it again :(
Very beautiful comeback. It was terrible on early access but now definitely better than Civ. This game should honestly have a lot lot lot more votes.
This game didn't even last two years before the updates stopped, dead game. Don't bother with it. Stopped playing a couple days in after finding out you could revert your movement, this is a very bad mechanic that rewards you for making mistakes in a strategy game.
The good thing about MILLENIA is that Civ7 is equally bad. If the competition refuses to set the standard, you don't have to aim high. But even Civ7 has an auto-explore feature for your units. Even Civ7 would inlcude a howitzer for artillery in the atomic age, instead of leaving you with Leonardo's first take on a cannon. I read posts about features the game doesn't have compared to its competition, and even though the developers respond swiftly, the posts are years old, with no avail that the features ever made it into the game. Also, the game doesn't have any leaders, and the battle system seems to be somewhat of a movie written on the base of which units came to the field to display to the player. On its own, it is a game worth some while. But the usurper of the throne of 4X Peoples and Cultures games this game was promised, a crown currently bared by Civ7, is not this game.
Actually does something new, and while it is a bit clunky in spots, and hard to understand in others, in those areas it innovates, it excels. I'm talking specifically about the varying and alternative ages; they make this game fantastic. Its a fun, reasonably priced game, that actually offers something different from other games in the same category.
