METAL GEAR SOLID: Peace Walker - Master Collection Version

Live Big Boss, be Big Boss. If you've played the other MGS games, you must play this one as well. Capcom nailed it out of the park with this one. Typical MGS plot which whiplashes between serious political ruminations and stupid jokes, great variety of missions and gameplay modes, working co-op and vs matches... you can even send other players a cardboard box full of gift supplies! It's great, play it.

I know I have few hours on this but let me say that this was my first proper introduction to Metal Gear franchise back in the PSP day (Mind you, back then, all I had was PSP and NDS), my first introduction was Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus (And I know, that wasn't the best place to start) and I found out this game was meant to be a multiplayer stuff so I was disappointed. Then I tried Acid and I was confused. It wasn't a bad game, but I know that is probably not it. So I was disappointed for a good while until Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker came out and that's when I fell in love with the franchise completely with it's compelling story, I absolutely adore comic books so this was perfect for me and I do not mind the limitation at all. I probably should have played MGS3 before this but nonetheless, the voice acting are absolute top notch, the music is stunning, the characters are memorable and the gameplay is addicting. The premise to this story that it is set in 1974, 10 years after the event of Metal Gear Solid 3/Delta: Snake Eater, Snake left the US to Colombia form his own mercenary group when they were approached by the professor and his student, Paz Ortega Andrade. The deal was to investigate the army that has been secretly sniffing around in Costa Rica. They offered an offshore soon to be a Mother Base, Snake refused but then he was given an interesting and yet, shocking details when Paz plays that recording... Mother Base is a fun little feature that allow you to move your soldiers around and you can read their little lore around them and everyone's unique. This game is SECRETLY A POKEMON GAME, you just knock out those soldiers and kidna-- I mean fulton to take them back to your base and heal them! Then they can join your base and be part of the units, whether it be combat, R&D, Mess Hall, etc. and best part is, when you assign one to the combat tab, they can be playable! (Except some unique NPC like Paz, Kaz, Amanda, etc. Sad, I wanna start blasting as Paz in the name of peace.) Oh and you can capture tanks, helicopters and so on and use them for a slight minigame on sending them out along with your units and wait back to get your rewards! Or possible consequences, like your soldiers could die. Customize your loadout and your camo in any way you want, be it stealth or you just wanna start blasting and the cool part is that this game has online co-op feature! And you can get in a Love Box with your buddy and get inti-- I mean, get around to sneak and IT. HAS. [spoiler]TANK BOX, where you can do the shooting and your buddy can move around![/spoiler] and it has PvP mode where you can fight with other enemy players! (Looking at you, MGS4.) And this is probably the only MGS game where it has co-op feature! Kind of a shame that MGSV skip out on that feature. This game allows you to get creative in what you want to do while completing missions and each of them are fun in their own way... Sort of. Kojima did a good job with some twists and turn with the story and it's why I got into another Metal Gear games so if you have never play before, I may recommend you play MGS3/MGSDelta to get the context of the story. Maybe back then on PSP day, I didn't mind it because I didn't have much except PSP and NDS and I wanted to play a Metal Gear game. Highly recommend! NOW GET IN MY LOVE BOX
