Mecha Knights: Nightmare

Fun game, but BarelyPlayable on Steam Deck, the controls are a total mystery. It took about an hour of trial and error to figure out how to do even basic moves. That said, it seems worth the sale price, for an unpolished game. Ay footage you see is what you get, no mysteries beyond the Steam Deck control scheme.

Do you want to drive a mech? Do you want to kill weird looking things? Do you want to feel powerful? Do you want to feel the pure joy that comes from destruction? This game is for you! Now it doesnt have the deepest stories or the best graphics, but if you want hours of fun just blasting aliens with many different types of weapons and shi; This is the game for you! It's just fun.

Look, this is very obviously a one-man band effort. It's a bit too janky, a bit too unpolished, a bit too raw and bit repetitive to be anything else. But damn it, it's fun. I did not know that I needed Armoured Core smashed into a zombie defense game. That's basically what this is. And it's pretty good at it! I don't think any other mecha game of this nature would have the stones to place 300+ enemies on the screen at the same time and then tell you to blow them to teeny tiny red chunks. It's cheap, and you'll be supporting a (clearly) very dedicated and talented one-man band. Buy it.

what you see you get

This is the game every 10yo boy would make if they were in charge of game design. Or at least I would have and it's great. Wanna run around in giant mechs and blow endless hordes up with equally magnificent weapons? Look no further and support this game so we hopefully get to see more of this game in the future. Yes I know it looks a little crude but the underlying game is solid and for the price I have absolutely nothing to complain about.

Sooooo... beat the game, was doing some raids, got a weapon... decided it wasn't going to be that strong right? Like what it's going to fire? mini nukes out of cannon?... oh... Oh... OH MY GOD... Get this game, its a mix of Armored Core (customiztion + mech) and Earth Defence Force (weapon crates, armor/health crates, and ammo crates + similar to how you unlock weapons in both games). Though I am sad the base game only has 20 missions, haven't gotten the DLC's yet so can't judge them but base game is really fun.

A fun and chaotic third-person shooter that balances that feeling of being in a super powered mech, while still throwing enough enemies (just so, so many enemies) and situations at you that you can't just breeze through it all either. There are some moments of jankiness here and there, but at no point did it take away from the addicting gameplay loop of shooting, looting, and tweaking your mech. It's well worth the price! 100% happy with my purchase and already looking forward to the sequel!
