"He was trying to buy more sand for his hour glass. I wasn't selling any" Max has so many good liners its great but yeah this game severely outdated in terms of level design and fairness but overall its still a good time.
Bon après des heures à chercher comment lancer le jeu, j'ai enfin réussi à trouver un patch fonctionnel, dispo sur le steam community. Mais on peut pas dépasser le stade du premier chapitre... je sors du métro et pouf, erreur sur le fichier part1.level2.ai. c'est sans fin ces erreurs...
Steam vend un jeu injouable avec le matériel actuel, c'est une honte.
Probably my least favourite of the trilogy, but this is still a fantastic game. The level design is superb, actually requiring the player to think outside of the box to overcome different obstacles. This game also has one hell of a vibe, it's much darker than the later entries in the franchise and it's unapologetically edgy, reminiscent of the manhunt games albeit to a lesser extent. The one aspect of this game that falls short of it's successors is the gunplay. Don't get me wrong it's still great fun and was very innovative for the time, but I just hated how inaccurate most of the weapons were, making certain weapons like the Desert Eagle completely redundant because it was so difficult to land headshots with, coupled with it's low capacity and slow rate of fire. Fortunately there is a mod which improves the weapon accuracy across the board and it made the game significantly more enjoyable for me. Also idk what the remake will be like or how much it'll cost, but I'd highly encourage anyone who hasn't played the first two games to just get the original versions on steam. They're dirt cheap and work fine on modern systems (for the most part).
/!\ N'acheter pas le jeu sur Steam/!\ J'ai acheté le jeu sur Steam et Google Play, ces versions crash simplement tout le temps. Heureusement j'ai trouvé la version CD dans un Cash pour pouvoir patch manuellement les fichiers: x_level1.ras x_level2.ras x_level3.ras Un wiki existe et le problème remonte à plus de dix ans... "Corrupted files in the French version (Steam)" c'est aussi un problème présent dans le portage dégueulasse Android du jeu. J'ai aussi appliqué un patch pour le faire tourné sur Windows 10 écran large etc... Je recommande le jeu: OUI Le scénario est superbe, la mise en scène aussi et c'est un des titres très important dans le monde vidéo ludique. Graphiquement c'est forcément dépassé mais l'ambiance générale est géniale. L'acheter sur Steam: NON pour les problème évoqués.
After all this time? Always. Max Payne rules. It's hard to comprehend how refreshing and entertaining this game feels even in 2026. True masterpiece of action and story-telling.
bought the double pack a few weeks ago, didnt know id have to find patches, etc and then theres no controller support on a console game, got refunded , id say get it if you really want it but only when its on sale for a few bucks if your ok with having to find patches etc just to make it work , same goes for part 2 , if thats to much work for a game that came out in 2001 then skip
