Max Payne is a man with nothing to lose in the violent, cold urban night. A fugitive undercover cop framed for murder, hunted by cops and the mob, Max is a man with his back against the wall, fighting a battle he cannot hope to win. Prepare for pain…

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

powerful statement
Game needs mods and Hexadecimal edits to even run properly. had to look up multiple tutorials just to get the game to get past the title screen. Absolute hassle just to boot this game do not recommend.

4 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
4 on sale11 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 11 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 4 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

broken on pc, need a bunch of mods to make playable, buyer beware
6. Znajdź solidną ścianę (pro tip: na zewnątrz). 7. Stań do niej plecami. 8. 11. Wróć do pokoju. 12. Odpal sprzęt. 13. Zainstaluj MAX PAYNE. 14. Zagraj. Wsłuchaj się w monologi. Poczuj noir, bullet time i ciężar historii. 15. End of story. Dzięki za przeczytanie — szacun dla kumatych. Trzymajcie się ciepło i celujcie w głowę. POLECAM! PS.
>Clear room. >F5. >Take pain killers. >Waits. >F5. >Get 1 Tapped by a enemy coming out of a doorway with no time to react. >F9. Rinse and repeat. Pretty solid game just a bit painful 7/10
One of the best third person shooters ever made. The bullet time mechanic never gets old and the noir atmosphere is fantastic.
I had never played any of the Max Payne games before. I knew of them, but that was about it, so jumping into a 25-year-old game with absolutely no nostalgia attached was an interesting experience. The first thing that struck me was just how far games have come since 2001. Playing Max Payne in 2026, there really isn't much that feels remarkable anymore, outside of the hoops you have to jump through to get it running properly on modern hardware. The guns feel inaccurate, the world is sparse, and while the story is engaging, it has a habit of abruptly pulling you out of the action for short graphic novel-style presentations. The chapter transitions were fine, but having those interruptions in the middle of the action felt jarring. And yet, there's a wonderful charm to the game's simplicity. There are no collectibles to track down, no side missions to complete, and no achievements to chase. It's just bad guys to shoot and bullets to dodge. There's something refreshing about playing a straightforward game that's free of clutter and can be finished in under 10 hours. I recommend it as a fun diversion from the often overstuffed games of today. The game definitely shows its age, but there's something undeniable about being Max Payne, Force of Nature. Lastly, I followed two guides to get the game working properly. First, I did everything in darkje's guide, including the NVIDIA Control Panel and NVIDIA Inspector settings. Then I applied the Remove Broken Adaptive Difficulty fix from PCGamingWiki. Doing both of those things allowed me to play through the entire game without a single issue. If you're planning to play Max Payne on modern hardware, I highly recommend following those steps before starting. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1633394421 https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Max_Payne#Remove_broken_Adaptive_Difficulty
"Max Payne" is like fine wine, the older it gets the better it feels, at this point it’s basically a yearly ritual you have to replay at least once a year.
Ive seen gameplay and ive played it before and its like REALLY good but on my pc it doesnt start for some reason at all the only reason i never refunded it is bc i got it for like 99 cents
