Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 36.14/day in the week to Jul 22 → 49.38/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

PvE is the future of this game. I hope they realize this and season 3 implements PvE beyond the vault breaker experiment. Until then i cant recommend this sweatfest to anyone who values their time or money
This game was fun, I guess. But didnt live up to its own hype. I really did want to love this game, I was geniunely very excited when I saw all the trailers. I loved the artstyle and Ive been waiting for a game to come along and make me fall in love with Extraction Shooters. This is not that game. The artstyle doesnt look anywhere near as good as the Ads made it, instead most of the game is just Unreal Engine 5 slop with some vibrant colors. The game advertised itself with a sort of hyper satuated Mirror's Edge style and instead it just looks likes every other Unreal 5 game with some weird guns. The Gameplay is okay but god its frustrating. The Boost system feels like it was thought out well for PvP fights but not for the PvE which is 90% of what you do. The guns feel like they tickle AI and Players alike while theirs instantly nuke you (Im not just talking about Grey guns or Starter Kit items, I managed to get my hands on some decent equipment and i still had this issue) And health is so incredibly stingy. Unless you managed to bring in the very best healing items in the game before a run, youll be spamming low level heals for an hour only to get one shot anyway. The various Frames are geniunely quite cool and I do wish they had a better enviornment to shine in. Though not all are made equally, for instance. Despite being my favorite, I struggled to actually figure out how to use Thief. All this in service to a gameplay loop that has been repeatedly shown to only favor the highest end of players with no concern for low levels. Im sure bungie will eventually add that PvE mode theyve been talking about that dozens of players will love. But lets be honest, this game isnt lasting that long. Also, it killed Destiny 2

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Among the very best pvp shooters ever made, but not everyone will have the patience to excel at it. On the merits of the art and sound design alone, Marathon is easily worth the asking price, and I'd even say $40 is an absolute steal.
Before playing Marathon for the first time, I had heard nothing but bad things about it. Everyone was complaining about how sweaty it was, and how uninteresting and boring the overall game loop was. So, needless to say, this game was pretty much entirely off my radar. I just assumed it was another ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cash grab. But last week I decided to watch someone play it for the first time, and I was super intrigued by the aesthetics and how good the sound design was. I bought it and played it for a while, and I was instantly addicted to the gunplay. I tried to get my friends to buy it because I didn't want to queue solo, but none of them were interested. So, I refunded it.. But I couldn't stop thinking about it. A few days later it went on sale and I said ♥♥♥♥ it. I bought it again. I now have almost 30 hours in solos, and I genuinely can't get enough of this game. I've tried other extraction shooters in the past, and none of them have held my attention quite like this game has. I genuinely wish more people would give Marathon a proper try and stick with it, because it is extremely rewarding once it clicks. The aesthetics and gunplay are top notch, which isn't shocking coming from Bungie. But even on it's own, the solos experience feels so well tuned and rewarding. I can't speak about trios, but my experience with solos and rook runs have been very good thus far. I only have two gripes. The first of which is the performance. The performance for this game is abysmal. Even on the lowest settings I hover around 85-95 fps.. On perimeter. The other maps tend to drop a fair bit lower. Would absolutely love to see some proper optimization. The other issue I have is with PvE scaling in solos. It still feels tuned for trios even in solos. I like that its challenging, but dying to bots over and over again in your first few hours without seeing a single enemy runner can be a bit discouraging. Apart from that, this game is fantastic. Don't listen to critics, play for yourself and form your own opinion. I'm really glad I gave this game a try, and I genuinely hope that more people will do the same.
Give it some time play methodically and it is awesome!
(Tips for new players in the second half onwards, the game doesn't do a great job of holding your hand but a few drops of knowledge can make it so much more understandable and enjoyable!) Absolutely adore this game and hope it succeeds. The gameplay feel is just absolutely fantastic, bungie crushes it once again in that department. The creative direction is off the wall and just so inspired, the colored/blocky aesthetic spin on a sort of classic futuristic/dystopian world feels so so so fresh. It's a hard game, it's competitive, I can understand if feeling too punishing or demanding for casual fps enjoyers but I stg if you are able to make the mindset shift from trying to win every game to accepting losses when they happen and just enjoy the gameplay loop you can have an absolute blast. Even just going into the outpost map with a free kit and seeing what you can pull off is my favorite thing to do right now (Even though I have every faction VIP in S2 and pretty much every upgrade). As you progress through those faction upgrades it becomes much much easier to be able to just buy items that will make you able to compete in top tier lobbies, it just takes time to get to that point. S2 started out a bit rough for casuals because the loot economy with the new map night marsh really benefitted the top players right out the gate, and they unnecessarily nerfed cradle exp (how you upgrade your permanent stats throughout the season) for no good reason which also punished casuals. Thankfully, they reversed the cradle change and have also added the PvE mode which as well lets you buy TOP TIER loot to use in PvP!!! I really recommend trying to jump in if not now, then at the beginning of season 3. Also, while there are bad eggs that can be a bit toxic like there are in every video game lol - the vast majority of people I encounter in this game (I play fill a lot) are super nice, don't let the game get them crazy stressed, and have met some great people that I play regularly. Once again, the mindset shift of letting yourself be okay with losing whatever you bring into a round and just enjoying the gameplay loop and progression is an absolute BLAST. One other tip for newer players starting out at the game. It's not really the intention of the devs, but I believe outpost is actually the most beginner friendly map. once you start to learn it you realize how easy it is to get great loot in there very quickly even with a free loadout. The close range of outpost really let lower level guns and knifeplay have a real chance against stacked teams while Perimeter and Dire Marsh's long range can make you not stand a chance against a stacked team if you run into one. The loot is also for the most part much lower quality AND harder to obtain than on outpost. Just my two cents. In terms of progression - let yourself nerd out a bit! Find out what guns you like, what characters you like playing, and see what faction upgrades let you build out specific builds with those! The community gets a bit hung up sometimes on which guns/equipment are OP/Meta but I truly believe you can make anything actually work and running an atypical build can absolutely catch people who are running a "meta loadout" off guard. > Few little tips related to this. - Traxus is the go to faction for weapon mods, upgrade this if you want to run a super good bully smg every run! etc etc - Arachne also has mods for different weapons inside the upgrade tree. - Sekiguchi Sekiguchi Sekiguchi, this faction has the upgrades that make your cradle progression faster - honestly is priority number 1 for newer players to get that cradle up as fast as you can, it makes a world of difference in your base stats. It's also how you start to be able to buy runner cores which is how you enhance your character abilities. These are SUPER USEFUL and can absolutely level up your game when you get to know them. Happy running! Please try the game out for yourself and come to your own conclusion with these points in mind :)
is fun
Marathon speaks to a niche crowd of gamers. You're going to make the "perfect" loadout and then get into fight and die, a lot, then the next round you out play somebody and get better gear than what you dropped the last round. Once you feel comfortable losing your gear, you're liberated from what I think is the largest hurdle for most players. If you're not willing to risk it, you don't deserve the biscuits.
