Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 36.14/day in the week to Jul 22 → 49.38/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

this is my first review actually ever, but the devs are dumbasses, have no clue how to run an extraction shooter, the core game in itself is actually great. but balancing team and whoever is making the decisions on what to let throw and go live is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane. the best part of the game being cryo is filled to the brim with nade spam! still!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after the grenade rework.... why have we not stopped people from bringing in ammo crates. how stupid do you have to be to keep destroying your player base..... needles to say your player base, just like destiny destroyed itself and yet you have the chance to stop it and refuse.
horrible and ♥♥♥♥ game, not only do fights last less than a second but i get absolutely no time to use my abilities, graphics are great and the idea of the game is great. fix your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game Bungie.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

W: Graphics, visuals, lore, performance, NPC AI (OP, which is perfect), Aimbot (which is insane! and goes a long way in making casuals feel like FPS aimgods). Unfortunately, the L outweighs the W for me. L1: Queue times. This is a function of the active user base. However, despite selecting Fastest Available over Quality, I spent 80% of my 'play' time just waiting for a game. Of my 15 hours, majority have been as Rook; as this is the only way I can get a game reasonably quickly. L2: This game is made for Trios and Grinders. I play solo and was left with a distinct feeling of a great experience that remained a mirage. L1 meant that my gear was almost always a sponsored basic kit. I treated Marathon as a COD TDM/Soul Survivor Hunt run due to these constraints. L3: Map size. The maps are perfect size for a PvP-first/PvE-lite experience. However, L1 and L2 means I could never really enjoy the game as a mostly Solo player. In general, the maps need to a bit larger to allow multiple playstyles to flourish. Sponsored Survival is a good mode that has been squandered, much like everything else. All in all, a thoroughly wasted opportunity at a game that wants to be an Extraction Shooter, but has ended up as an FPS TDM/BR game.
boooooooorrrrrriiiiiinnnnnngggggg
140 hours. 14/14 achievements. I think it is fair to say I have played enough Marathon to know exactly how I feel about it. And the frustrating part is that I agree with a lot of the criticism people have about this game. I just still really like it. The setting is incredible. The art direction, the shells, the animations, the sound design and especially the gunplay are all top tier. Bungie absolutely nailed the feeling of actually playing Marathon. Shooting feels fantastic. Movement feels fantastic. The weapons have weight. The entire game has this weird, lonely, dystopian atmosphere that I haven't really found anywhere else. When Marathon is good, it is REALLY good. My biggest problem is Bungie's obsession with designing everything around three man fireteams. This has been one of their biggest weaknesses for years and somehow they are still doing it. Not everyone has two friends permanently available who also happen to play the same game. I don't. I've never even done Cryo Archive because I simply don't have friends who play Marathon. And apparently that means a significant piece of content just isn't realistically made for me. For an extraction shooter trying to maintain a healthy playerbase, I think Bungie is incredibly stupid for not catering more towards PvE and solo/duo players. Especially because they actually showed us how well that could work with Vault Breakers. I played A LOT of Vault Breakers. I loved it. I even got incredibly close to soloing the Compiler. It gave me another reason to play Marathon besides dropping into the same PvP loop over and over again. It let me enjoy the world, progression, gunplay and mechanics without requiring a full three man squad. And then... poof. Gone. They deleted the mode. Genuinely one of the most idiotic decisions Bungie has made with this game. They finally had something that gave PvE focused and solo players another way to engage with Marathon and instead of expanding it, improving it and building on it, they just removed it. The PvP side has its own problems. The skill gap has become ridiculous. I have 140 hours in Marathon and even I regularly get put into matches where I feel completely outclassed. Because this is an extraction shooter, losing doesn't just mean losing a match either. You can lose gear you spent hours collecting. That creates a negative feedback loop. Less skilled players get destroyed and leave. The remaining playerbase gets better. The next group of players now becomes the bottom of the matchmaking pool, gets destroyed and eventually leaves as well. Repeat that enough times and you are left with an increasingly small group of extremely dedicated players fighting each other. I understand that PvP and the constant threat of another Runner are part of Marathon. I don't want that removed. I just don't understand why Bungie seems so reluctant to build more around it. Give solo players something meaningful to do. Give duos proper support. Bring back Vault Breakers and expand it. Give PvE players a reason to explore this incredible universe. And for once, stop assuming everyone playing a Bungie game has a three man fireteam ready to go. There is an amazing game underneath all of these problems. I know because I've spent 140 hours playing it and somehow ended up getting every achievement. You don't do that with a game you dislike. So yes, despite everything I just wrote, I'm recommending Marathon. The gunplay is too good. The world is too interesting. The art direction is incredible. I clearly love playing this game. I just wish Bungie would realize that Marathon could be so much more than what they are currently allowing it to be.
This game has finally clicked for me. Say what you will but I feel all extraction shooters take a bit until you grasp enough of the mechanics and nuances to guns/loot loops/maps to really start finding a groove. This game's visuals are unparalleled and beautfiul. The gunplay is that classic bungie magic and the later maps and especially cryo are insane in level design genius. While the PvE mode is not that interesting to me, a few runs did give me some cryo map knowledge I didn't have but it will never supplant the actual thrill and fun of playing against other teams. I wish the best for marathon, I want to keep playing it for a long time. The sins of bungie's upper management and Sony's decision around Destiny should not deter you from giving this a shot. We all know the problems the game and studio faces but this is a genuinely great game and I want more. Treat this game as more of a Rogue-like extraction shooter with how generous/decent starter/sponsor kits can be and I recommend getting over the anxiety of trio fills if you don't have a squad sooner than later, the game sings when you have a team and have a shoulder to lean on when you're struggling. REVIEW will make me GOD
Escape From Tarkov
