Note: Played on the Steam Deck Mabus 3000 is a good looking arcade game. It's almost like cross between old school Tempest and a reverse-Tetris. You pilot a craft and are to destroy pieces of a towers that grow out of a sphere. The towers can create/spawn things that can attack you. The towers can spawn turrets, mines or mini fighters that chase and attack you. All of this lines up to be a fun, high score attempting type game. Unfortunately, there are some design choices that are a bit curious. For me, these choices make the title just not any fun. First, there is no target indicator. You don't know where you are firing, until you start firing, and then you have to try to aim at what you wanted to hit in the first place. While I understand the decision, I believe that detracts from just having fun with the title. You spend so much time trying to figure out how to hit something rather than hitting something. Second, the towers start spawning things to kill you right off the bat. Typically you want to ramp up the difficulty, and maybe it gets even harder, but there is no reason to have so many things coming at you right out of the gate. I would suggest maybe the first level, only mines could get produced by the towers. Next level, you add in turrets, but their percentage of appearing is low. As you move up the levels, the percentages and enemies increased. When you first start playing, Issue #1 and Issue #2 means that your play time is about 60 seconds before you are dead. Now, you can say "git guud", but many people are just going to put it down. Anyone who makes a game, wants people to play their game. This game has really good bones, but needs better progression design and at least the option to have a visual target. Those two areas would go a long ways for this to have players wanting to play it.
