Centuries ago, a primal magic surged from the earth's depths, fueling empires but twisting it's inhabitant and the world into corruption's grasp. Forests blackened, skies bled shadow, and rivers turned to poison.
But a less prevalent radiant energy was also born, and hidden within pure warriors, the Luminaries. Armed with the light, their goal is to reclaim the land, hurling back the blight.
Yet the Luminary's gift is double-edged, immortality that tempts the soul. Every 80 years, Luminaries must yield their light to a successor, or risk eternal decay. Defiant ones hoard it, swelling into godlike tyrants of darkness, the Ebonarchs
As a new Luminary, rise in power. Shatter the Ebonarch's abyssal power source to strip their immortality, and strike them down. Together with your fellow Luminaries, push back the Darkness with Light.

Naja wo soll man da Anfangen?
I feel like the comments saying the game is "incomplete" are a bit unfair. Basic, yes, repetative, yes. It's also fun. So, yes, it still needs some work, added enemies would be great for more variety, more interactive NPC's, the map definitely needs an indicator marker of where you are as a player needs added. Other than that, it's a fun game that I feel was well worth the purchase, and I hope to see some more content and more updates. While decent, the character customization could use a bit more, particularly body sliders. Not every guy needs to be a beefed up body builder and not every girl needs to be a busty bimbo. Armor could also use some refinement, there's no real incentive to wear armor if there's no difference between running around naked and wearing armor that says, "this is purely cosmetic." Nevertheless, it has great promise and I'm really looking forward to future updates

played enough to give my honest feedback: -the music is amazing, it feels great booting up everytime. -the combat is simple and smooth, I have alot of fun fighting the enemies -im not crazy about graphics, but this game alone looks great with my potato laptop - I love the customization and the fact theres several diffrent races at launch to choose from - the map is huge, so much to explore idk if the devs read this but i'm going to leave a few suggestions for futture updates 1. idk about the lore but maybe have NPCS with quests to do? that give cool rewards like new weapons, armour, etc 2. more varients of enemies to fight 3. maybe some random events that happen while exploring 4. idk if its just me but setting waypoints on the map so i know where im going my only con that i can think of is that my frames drop sometimes in combat maybe its my potato pc? the game is amazing I cannot wait to see what the future holds
Honestly this game is a lot of fun, I do agree that it is in VERY early access, but it has very good bones to be something absolutely amazing. The combat is good, but not perfect yet, abilities so far are satisfying but I ended up focusing on how much i could just stun lock enemies and kind of forgot dodging is a thing. Graphics are genuinely good, again nothing to write home about but it was appealing enough to want me to keep going. Once this game has had more time in the oven I truly do think it will be a masterpiece. I was able to finish a majority of the game in the time I've played and will be returning for updates. Current state I would give it a 6/10, with a bit more in the game I could EASILY see this going to a 9/10 maybe even a 10 (in my book at least)
Game is at a great start, combat is fast and fluid, the systems for weapons and varations is coming. Remember its EA and that comes with some certain conditions. Un finished systems, combat or missing featues relating to combat. But the foundation is def there! Yes the game has a long way to go but no reason to crap on it because its not in its final draft! We enjoyed what content is available now and going to look forward to its future progression. This one is a good investment and we are happy of have played it. Wife and myself to be clear
At this time this is a demo. While i like what I see of the demo, i cant even call this a game as it really has no purpose, no goal, no point. It has not one completed system in game atm. The closest is movement and basic combat which feels good and is very responsive but jumping just seems off and in a game with gliding and rampant verticality in its terrains not having climbing feel intentionally punishing making an open world feel closed as your try and circle around the rock your lackluster jumps can not get you up. as far as having an advancement tree or gear these are barley there with a total of 2 skills being in the game and all the weapons still saying their advancement is unavailable in the demo. I literally maxed out my sword in like 8 camps with available progression. THIRTY TWO MOBS THAT IS THE LARGEST WEAPON TREE YOU HAVE TO UNLOCK? The mob scripting is atrocious allowing you to sit at extended range as long as you have arrows and kill clear the camps. This is the reality of the "game" at the moment. The vision they have i feel is worthwhile and I respect their efforts thus far. I am not refunding because i want them to have a chance to take the demo into a game but can't recommend this in its current state as anything but a donation to indie developer.
It honestly saddens me to say, that this just isnt ready to sell. I wont refund, because I want the devs to have my support, that said, I cant in good conscience recommend this at this time. Its extremely bare bones and feels more like visual demo rather than a full gaemplay demo, let alone early access. There just isnt content here yet. Will be happy to re-evaluate this review in another 6-12 months and see where the game is headed
I ran across Luminary by chance. I try not to purchase games on a whim. The last game I did that with was AOC. That was a huge Steam and I failure, among all the obvious failures. So far, I have played Luminary for a couple hrs. I am very pleased with what I have seen. The story line is creative, the game plays really well, it is visually pleasing to my eye. It is still very early for this game, so the world does not feel alive quite yet. But the game is keeping my attention with the limited content released thus far. This game has longevity written all over it, and I know my investment has already paid off.
Indie games have come a long way. Fun gameplay. Beautiful open world. Look forward to future updates.
