Centuries ago, a primal magic surged from the earth's depths, fueling empires but twisting it's inhabitant and the world into corruption's grasp. Forests blackened, skies bled shadow, and rivers turned to poison.
But a less prevalent radiant energy was also born, and hidden within pure warriors, the Luminaries. Armed with the light, their goal is to reclaim the land, hurling back the blight.
Yet the Luminary's gift is double-edged, immortality that tempts the soul. Every 80 years, Luminaries must yield their light to a successor, or risk eternal decay. Defiant ones hoard it, swelling into godlike tyrants of darkness, the Ebonarchs
As a new Luminary, rise in power. Shatter the Ebonarch's abyssal power source to strip their immortality, and strike them down. Together with your fellow Luminaries, push back the Darkness with Light.

This is like a beginners adventure game for children. Far too easy! Anyone that really enjoys games even close to this will find Luminary boring. - Very little content. Completed in just a few hours. - Graphics are not that great. You can pass through some rocks. Even got stuck under the map once. - ALL fights are very simple. Even if you find yourself getting low on stamina, you can kite the enemy around while it quickly regens. This also makes it easy to take potions for your health if needed, and potions are abundant. All fights are easily done with sword/shield. Only time the bow is needed is to shoot the gnome statues you can find. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GAME
this is not a functional product, and absolutely not one worth $15, i frankly don't care anymore if something says early access or if they slap "alpha build" on every menu and on the entire gameplay. it will never change the fact that this is still a product first and foremost and not one worth buying, at best not yet? maybe check this out in 5 years. this is very clearly a vertical slice you show internal publishing teams it has no right ever being sold on a store front and touted as a product worth buying.
Bareboned but exploration is well designed. There are gnomes to collect that are hidden away. There are numerous chests and small camps of Goblins. There is swimming (But no breath meter) Archery (with arrow drop) A few outfits and bows and swords to find. Gliding is well done, combat is fine. No magic as of yet. Plentiful healing potions, perhaps not as many arrows as I would like (as I tend to miss a lot) Crafting mats I haven't see a use for yet (But am still exploring) And I have seen smoke from buildings so, that is probably a town with clumsy humans burning things again. It's a good start, it just needs more content, more reason for being there other than exploring and fixing purple trees and purple towers and purple campsites/forts, because, right now, that's pretty much all there is. What it does have though is a nice character creator,...ish. Only one body / face type that you can twiddle and tweak a bit But I get it, lay down the foundations of one then concentrate on the game, come back to flesh it out (pun intended) later. It has nice graphics and combat animations, a simple weapon selector. What it needs, is a magic system. To the devs...Keep going, the world you have made is pretty. But to keep players playing you need magic, more monster variety and reasons to be there. Exploring and finding points of interest that require small tasks are fine, but players want quests and magic and beer and something to do. Just look at some of the comments so far...0.5 hours played...nothing to do...hell I wasn't done making my Giantess beautiful in that time, was still doing her make up.....some people have the attention span of a Mayfly.

Game still in alpha, it tells you right at the start and thats exactly what you should expect. There is not much implemented yet. No quests, no story, no real goal besides exploring. You can find chests with mostly arrows, heal potions and woood inside. What you need the wood for i don't have a clue, maybe tehre will be some crafting added later. Your starting race does not matter, you get a sword, shield and bow. thats your weapons and i did not find any others in my 30 minutes of playtime. You find a good looking, skimpy armor on the starting island and yeah it tells you it won't affect anything, its just there to admire naked pixel skin. Combat is weird as well as you seem to just run around the enemies, wait for your stamina to replenish and then get some more hits in. I think there is a great idea for this game and i guess the developers released it in this state because they need the money to continue. I will keep my eyes open for this one, but for now it returns to my wishlist because there is just not enough there yet. Would i recommend the game? not in the current state, except you want to support the developers, but i will click thumbs up because i hope they can keep working on this and make it better.
I can appreciate what the developers are doing, and for a two person team its amazing. The game looks good, and the basics are there. Just the basics. The character creator is good, and the story has potential. The game is empty, run around see some goblins kill them, and loot their chest. Heal a corrupted tree, Repeat. There are some technical issues, but not game breaking. This is one to watch out for, but wait, unless you want to support the devs, and can wait until the game is more complete.
まだ早い、早すぎる。何もすることがない…
It honestly saddens me to say, that this just isnt ready to sell. I wont refund, because I want the devs to have my support, that said, I cant in good conscience recommend this at this time. Its extremely bare bones and feels more like visual demo rather than a full gaemplay demo, let alone early access. There just isnt content here yet. Will be happy to re-evaluate this review in another 6-12 months and see where the game is headed
